Mr. Osama or any other Arabic speaker will surely make the correction or clarification later with regards to these terms.

So what's your civil status?

For example a married man is refused entry to a Mall on a Friday. He tells the security guy at the door I am married. The Security guards says no you are a bachelor.

Mr. Osama, so you use the word murtabet' to say that you have a girlfriend or boyfriend or when you are living in with someone or have a partner but not married yet? Is that correct?

By Steve1• 5 May 2011 09:04

The Arabic for 'hello my friend' is is to press your car horn.

How do you pronounce married Bachelor?

By osamabawab• 5 May 2011 08:47
osamabawab

FS G in motazawage is like "Gemrany"

you can divide the word so it will be easier to say Mota - za - wage (the last "e" is not to be pronounced)

Hislam EQUIVALENT NOT EQUIVELANT . Mind you hislam

Thanks for the warning, AHT. I guess it's one of those words that men whisper only to each other when they see a beautiful lady.

AHT, most of us already know "shukran" and many other common terms. We are all trying to increase our Arabic vocabulary by learning a few new words per day. But "moozza" is certainly new to me; I will surely get to use it one day. Is "moozza" better than "muthira"?

By ah.qa• 5 May 2011 08:06
ah.qa

A'zeb - single

A'zab - hurt . Punish

But i think my friend u need to post general words who people need to use in general like

Shukran - thanks

Mn fadlk - excuse me

Moozza - cute girl ;-)

Rizks, I think your Arabic is much more advanced than mine. LP, every situation certainly calls for a particular civil status. I'm memorizing these terms; you'll never know when the right situation comes along.
