Are guns legal in Qatar?

I was on a farm last week and could have sworn I heard gunshots... I then found some shotgun shell casings on the ground but I thought all guns in Qatar were illegal... Are they?

i have a water gun..never heard its illegal :P lol,,, yups dude guns are illegal but only for expats... some locals do have it and they use it for hunting.but not all locals are allowed to keep guns.
