Nightmare Experienced (Deleted by mod)

I would like to share my nightmare experienced tonight. I went out for dinner tonight with my husband. My husband was driving the car. On the way back home, when we want to cross one of the roundabout, there was one young (deleted by mod) man was honking his car non-stop to ask us to be quick. Suddenly when we cross the roundabout, he overtake us and dangerously breaking his car in front of us and he did so many times to provoke us. WHAT KIND OF ATTITUDE IS THIS? And lastly when I stared at him and he saw me (a woman) in the car he went away. Actually I have seen this before happened on the road but today it happened to us... I was really upset and worried about driving in Qatar that become more dangerous nowadays because of this young (deleted by mod) Man (comment deleted)

(P/S: Please be careful all)

Sincerely,
Mother-to-be

Mod Note : Refrain from mentioning nationalities.

At the first place I shouldn't mention his nationalities but I am pretty sure what nationalities he is... But that doesn't matter. FYI we were driving at the slow lane. We can accept if he only honking, flashing etc. What make us really upset why he suddenly dangerously breaking his car in front of us and he did so many times to provoke us?

My question are:

1) Do this "uncivilized person" have the authority to endanger another life even though we are driving at the fast lane?

2) If this thing is happening again in the future what is the best we can do? Just ignored the person who are enjoying to endanger another life?

Maybe if something very bad happen to him/his families on the road then he will realize the important of "appreciating other people life" OR maybe he doesn't care at all...

Now its edited by MOD...but thanks its here still...If you have complain just follow what Tash and Brit has said...Sometimes we also forget we are driving on a fast lane intended and yet our driving to slow for the lane we should shift to the middle lane and its take some time to shift..that's why as I observe other people tends to honk, lights blink warning that they want to maximize the use of fast lanes(which is use to ease traffic )and yet some people implore their right of way. This comment just a tip in Driving, I always said to our drivers who always shift lanes not to do this its very dangerous.

Nationality deleted but we all know who it refers to. Maybe the police will have another road safety campaign where nothing ever changes.

Qatar is still more peaceful than many other countries where people follow rules and regulations. It is because of the laws it has a very low crime rate. Such acts as stated by Raihana may be termed as individual acts by uncultured people. Such people are found everywhere, even in the country to which Raihana belongs.

complaints against such acts will not taken in by authorities. Traffic rules is only for expats not for locals.

Just be more careful while driving and ignore such arrogant ppl.

After being here for almost 4 yrs and not having personally experienced any incident of rash driving etc it was a shock that few days back a white Chevrolet Truck chased me without any provocation of any kind right from Ras Aboud R/A until Ramada signal where it took sudden right turn to move to the lane (4th lane) to go towards The Centre from the second lane (I was the third lane) almost cutting me too close at very high speed that if I wasn't careful having noticed him following me changing lanes, coming too close in the parallel lane, overtaking me very closely, coming and braking in front, going back and flashing etc all the way, would have hit me or even toppled me. Sincerely wish that he meets his creator ASAP before he ends up making some people dead or maimed. What a loser. Don't know what nationality he was, but whatever. Looks like Qatar roads are for sure getting unsafe cos of such idiots.

WHAT KIND OF ATTITUDE IS THIS?

sIMPLE: It's pure arrogance with the knowledge that he would not be dealt with by the authorities if complained against.

In the guiness world book of records, Qatar is rated as the country with the most accidents in relation to its total population.

Maybe Qataris are simply trying to keep this title :)

Qatar is better than other countries? Well maybe Saudi is worse but that's about it. She's not talking about ignorant driving, but deliberate reckless and dangerous driving from people who think they are above the law. Which if course they are

Don't make it specific person nationality...So many here wear thesame dress..ride thesame cars...but they are not actually all qataries...they just wear the dress with pride...I've been on the road each day and honk a thousand times even shouted ,swerve ,provoke but we continue to strive to live and survive each day hoping accidents slip away...

sorry to hear all this Raihana.

I can't understand behavior on the roads. Why some are always in anxiety when they are behind a car, they honk, flash and change their lanes so very often impatiently without indicators and they don't know by these idiotic acts they couldn't get anything except involvement in accidents and spreading horror on the roads.

Those are always the first words that crops up in my mind to describe such individuals. They obviously lack education, decorum, and cultivation, despite their wealth. I mean what kind of human being can possibly take pleasure in endangering the lives of others just so than can feel a cheep sense of superiority? Only an uncivilized arrogant loser with criminal intent!
