One month overlap

I resigned 3 months ago from my company. I shouldve have gone a month before I resigned. But they told me to wait for my replacement before they could let me go. Two weeks ago my replacement came. I told them I already turnover my responsibilities to the new guy. But they told me to stay for two more weeks because they said there should be a 1 MONTH OVERLAP for me to train the new guy. IS THERE SUCH A THING? What should I do?

as far as i know, the company has to let you go 1 month after you give them notice. If you have finished training your replacement you are free to go. Talk with your management and make them understand that the new guy is ready to take over entierly
