The only reason i'm asking is because I'm unfamilar with the Islam culture and the religion.
I just wanted to get a idea of how the prayer time were set because i don't want to cross path with anyone during that time. You see, I'm moving to Qatar in May and I think it would beneficial to me to know at least the basic of Islam.
Since Islam require the follower to pray five times a day, I was wondering if it troublesome for someone who is not islam to be sound asleep during the PA call out.
we pray 5 times aday each prayer time differs on daily basis according to the day or night lenghth(the difference may be 1 minute every day "more or less")
the timing is avilable everywhere : on the net , on ATHAN softwares or in the calendars in a small table in everyday's paper.
the Mo'athen who is responsible for making Athan which is cosidered as the official announcement of prayer time
thae mo'athen make the Athan in the mic. at the specific time.
then after a pre-determined time he make Iqama which is the announcement for people who came to the Masjid after Athan to stand up for the prayer
the time between Athan & Iqama is varied between 5 to 25 minutes according to the prayer e.g: Fajr(dawn)25, Maghhrib(sunset) 5 .....etc.
I also like the adhan braodcast on the radio. When I'm driving I roll down the windows when I hear the call on the radio so I can hear the echo from the mosques around me.
If you're few meters away from the mosque you can here the adhan (call for pray) done by the muezzin (one who calls for pray) and after few minutes istiqama (stand up for pray).

If you want to know prayer times you can download Azan software to your phone. Google it, the software is free...
