Aside from being a symbolic religious calendar year, what is the difference between ramadan and christmas?

and yeah Platao, i know in that part of the world, ppl do not care that much abt it.

my friend was telling me that in the most catholic place in ur country, on Great Friday there was a big thing going on on the street, carrying the cross and so on. while ppl with the cross were passing next to clubs, patry wld just stop for a while, but right after they were gone, the misic, drinking and party wld carry on :o)

now such thing u wld not see where i come from.

but this is just a matter of religious tradition in different countries.

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

i am Catholic and we r fasting before Christmas (but not fasting like during Ramadan; we simply don't make parties, overeat and drink and so on), even on Christmas Eve we do not eat meat.

During lent it goes the same, but for 40 days, remembering Jesus fasting on the desert.

And for the last part of the lent, we shld not eat meat, drink and so on, even the portions shldn't be big.

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

Holy Week is an active week for Catholics whilst Muslims have Ramadan.

We have Christmas similar to Eid for Muslims. ;)

I think it's not a good business like Eastern or Christmas, that's why it gets no attention.

Can only talk about Christmas, it's the day christians celebrate Jesus christ aniversary and usually people exchange gifts, think EID is more similar to christmas than Ramadan
