Tips for drivers

To all the stupid drivers out there: if you cause a serious accident - it won't matter who was right, who was wrong. Death doesn't chose nationality, skin colour or religion! If you're dead - you're dead!

So for your information... STUPID things NOT to do on when driving:

1. If you change lanes - you look first, then indicate, then change lanes, not turn then indicate!
2. If you're coming on to a roundabout or approaching a junction - look in the direction of on-coming traffic, not the opposite direction!
3. Do not break suddenly and for no apparent reason... I will drive up your a*^&! and it won't matter that much whose fault it is... we both will waste hours at the police station (insurance will pay for damage anyway, so don't bother arguing whose fault it was!)

Save driving!

i have seen some expert drivers tease drivers behind by breaking suddenly in front and then speed. Vehicle driver behind will be caught unaware and causing accident

I would rather say that traffic police should find some way out to stop people using phones while driving....that basically is a big reason for many accidents!!!!!!

You will find the worst driver mostly those drivers who learn how to drive and got the license only here in qatar. These are the product of bad teachings from unqualified instructors.

Drivers' remember your driving reflects your character and personality

Don't change lanes once you enter Roundabout, enter the roundabout in the same lane, on which lane you were driving on main road, and then exit in the same lane also from roundabout. if you don't know how to drive in roundabouts, then better to travel in Karwa..

1. If you change lanes - you look first, then indicate, then change lanes, not turn then indicate! MOVE ACR0SSWHEN SAFE TO DO SO

2. If you're coming on to a round-about or approaching a junction - look in the direction of on-coming traffic, not the opposite direction! CHOOSE UR LANE B4 GOING IN2 RA AND STAY IN IT AND GO THE WAY INTENDED

Save driving! SAFE DRIVING

JUST MY ADDITIONS TO IT

Ooooooo the other day I actually witnessed a driving instructor tell his student to go from the far left lane into the far rite lane in a r/a and then when i nearly collided with him he had the nerve to go off at the student...hahahahahaha....and he was the driving instructor.....is this happening....lol

Land cruisers don't have side indicators so can't blame the owners, lorry drivers always have stiff-necks so can't turn to see the oncoming traffic, can't blame them either. Finally, braking suddenly is a reflex action to attend to a telephone call or avoiding a crash with the above two tribes of drivers, so can't blame them too..:)

the country should make more efforts to improve safety regulations and to enforce more stringent traffic laws, but road rules are, nonetheless, ignored by many. Don’t expect to see a turn signal, be wary of cars crossing into your lane with little notice, and when braving the many roundabouts, be assertive while driving defensively. These traffic circles are pretty much free-for-alls.

Expats should remain alert, aware and should practice defensive driving at all times.

I got used to driving here KK :o) but won't give up trying to get through to these people. I really think most of it is just lack of education... sadly...

this has been put on QL many times, but I agree with you. Driving in Doha is very bad. The worst are these drivers with one foot on the dashboard and holding the mobile zigzagging through traffic.
