Two Muslim Men, Not Women as Witness, HELP!..

I need to renew my "Ethbath Adzam es-sawaj" i don't really know the words translation of these in English, anyone? It's like, Marriage Proof Certificate, please correct it if it is wrong.

This is yearly renewed and it is so hard for me to find two muslim eligible men to stand as witnesses for me that i am not married again after my divorce. I need this document in doing almost all the necessary processing like when i apply for a helper,  to apply for a job, or simply wanted to travel.

The court requires two muslim men to witness for me, i don't know alot of men and the court doen't accept women as witnesses. Anybody from QL help me for this, please? Those who came to witness for me those past years are my friends husbands, and i am now ashamed to approach them again.  Pls send me PM , if someone of you can help...

         Suggestions are welcome. . . .

..... and I'm aware that sometimes I don't put my opinions across in the most diplomatic fashion. Hence the premature apology in my original post.

Hope you have a great day.

Ouch talk about strong opinions.

The country is progressing Doha Steve. These things take time.

Also posted was "no husband's approval, no driving licence" ..... I don't think I'm reading too much into it at all

While I agree that Qatar is probably more advanced than Afghanistan in terms of rights of women, it still doesn't seem like a whole lot further down the line to me when the word of a woman is valued less than the word of a man.

And you echoed my own words, where I conceded that all societies have their minus points.

I think you are reading too much into the situation!

Qatar is more advanced then afghanistan in terms of rights of women. And no society is perfect.

Much as I hate to question the values of any society, being fully aware that pretty much all societies have their minus points, isn't this just a little bit degrading to women? If a woman is old enough (i.e. an adult in the eyes of the law) then shouldn't she be able to make her own decisions?

I just finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and was saddened by the way that women were treated in Afghanistan. This doesn't seem to be too far away from that situation.

As usual, apologies to anyone who is offended by me expressing my opinion.

According to islamic law... divorce is proven by 2 witnesses.

I would contact a lawyer about having some paperwork stamped by the qatari authorities in which would allow you to use them every year as opposed to going through this palova. May Allah make it easy for you!

I don't know but to prove i can do my own decision, no longer man to approve of everything for me. During my marriage, i ask permission and approval from him before i can like, when taking driving license, no husbands approval, no license etc.
