Why Qatari Drivers Turn Left/Right without...

Hi Guys
This is a question mark for me that why some driver here in Qatar Specially QATARIES turn Left/Right the car without any Side Lamp Signal?
How they get their driver license?
You know that it is very dangrous and it takes live of others?
Do you know that the driver (even a professional driver) will think that when you are driving infront of him you will pay attention and sending signal for Turning Left/Right?

you are on the left lane, you still need to turn on your left signal light because it's customary. It's just like saying, it's part of driving defensively. There's no harm in doing so.

The rule is , whatever lane you are occupying and whether you are moving or at a junction, everytime you change direction, you make the necessary signal

but a lot of road courtesy maneuvers. I'm not really sure but am I right before when I said that there is no classroom lectures before you received your FIRST driver's license? This applies to all countries, if you don't know the rules or even road courtesy manners, how can you practice it. Here in Qatar, they're only concern is you know how to start, stop and park your car the way they want you during the actual drive test, after that, you're on your own.

Having driven in a few countries and jut come from Saudi.. I can tell you that Qatari driving is pretty sane compared to Saudi..

Problem with roundabouts is that not many people are used to them, especially Americans..The answer is to keep about you and use mirrors constantly..

Strictly speaking, giving the left signal even though they're in the left-hand lane at the junction is the correct way of doing things. Also, they may be about to do a U-turn.

another funny thing about over-conscious drivers.., they give left signal even if they are already in the left lane in the junction. obviously, you're turning lef you dont have to inform the car behind you. signal given when not required and vice versa. some drivers are really thinking backwards.

Wrote about this on my blog yesterday.

I got really annoyed when a blonde woman (she was hot though :P ) was on the outside of a round about and turned left and almost hit me, and didn't even signal.

It's all nationalities my friend.

Sadly people learn bad habbits rather than keeping up with the good.

which do you prefer? turning without signal or turning left on right signal and vice versa?

it really puzzles me how some drivers can give signal when they are turning on the opposite side.

SMK....I really dont care about such things, coz now its just like a part of life in Qatar, if i start counting day-to-day clashes with bad drivers ill go mad telling you stories but i wont end up...

thers a better solution ... just drive as fast as u can (as i do, I only slow down if a radar is ahead)but safe fast drive not rash... Fastest is the safest in Qatar...

I was wondering when my brother told me that when you drive here in qatar, you must protect your face and A**, i was laughing at him, but i came to know what does he means, tody i was riding with one of my frineds car, in City Center's Round About, a GXR push the break to allow a girls car pass the road, but it was not her right it was our right to pass fist, we were going to have a big crash on his DumbA**, but we hit our car on the block, and then this mother*** was angry and he was shouting that we were driving fast, sudenly a traffic police came and stoped us, after investgation, the traffic police gave a very harsh warning to the two Qatari thet they were in GXR... after we were laughing at them....

Its not just Qataris who dont signal when turning left and right, most people in Qatar dont do that...

It has to do with the fact that theres no indicator function in cars, they are optional...well they might as well not be there...

you just have to conentrate really hard and guess the direction the driver is going...
