Pakistan to release Indian pilot tomorrow
While addressing a joint session of the parliament a short while ago, the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that the Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan who was arrested in Pakistan when his plane was shot down, will be released and allowed to return home tomorrow. The Prime Minster stated this is being done “as gesture of goodwill.”
While stressing on de-escalation, the prime minister stated that Pakistan has lost 70,000 lives while facing and fighting a war on terrorism which is more than any country in the world. Imran Khan stated he had attempted to have a talk with the Indian PM yesterday but did not succeed in getting a connection to him.
With leaders of several countries such as the USA, UK and China making efforts to diffuse the tension in the region, we hope diplomacy works and the situation at the border of Pakistan and India return to normal quickly.
War is a result of failure of peace efforts. War just leads to damages and destruction, with the poor masses suffering the most from the fallouts.
