2 minute tip to remove Purple Fringing
By djustified •
One of the most troublesome things in photography is purple fringing - a form of chromatic aberration where the camera fails to record the real color and paints blueish purple tone on high contrast scenes. Cheap lenses are more prone to purple fringing. The better the lens quality, the lower the problem.. But how is there a way to remove it in post processing? Nicole shows you how it can be removed using photoshop. See:

You've got a good kit. But get yourself a tripod to get a steady panorama. Even an ultra wide angle lens could not give you 360 Degree view, so you need to stitch multiple photos so a tripod will allow you steady horizontal movement. With regard to your battery problem, A DSLR would last longer since you can use the viewfinder instead of live view..A battery grip would add extra durability..
But for now, you can get yourself an extra battery or two... Hope this helps...
btw, the info you've given was useful... learn somethin from it.... thank you.. :-)
I have Canon SX30IS with wide angle lens kit, filter kit ....The problem is at the height (I am talking about approx. 4500 metres above sea level), atmospheric pressure is very low. Last time my Canon camcorder kept shutting down automatically at 3500 mt. It was eating batteries very fast. I read the manual which says it won't work and will leak (liquid inside bursts at low pressure) at some height (Sorry, don't have it near me at the moment so can't give you exact details). Planning a trip again during Ramadan.
You could use a ultra wide angle lens between 10-22mm range or use a kit lens to take several shots of the scenery by moving the camera 360 degrees horizontally and keeping it vertically still (you could use a tripod for this). Later those shots can be stitched in Photoshop or similar software.
What camera are you using? and what do you mean by not being able to take digital cameras on those heights?
I could help you more if you could be more specific..
Thanks. Can you recommend a lens for 360 degree panoramic shot for shooting in mountains. I cannot take a digital camera on those heights.
