sorry but someone who calls himself 'Acorn' is not a rough and tough hoodie on the streets of L.A...more of a leafy suburb in a Stepford Wives avenue....I don't get it!!

If people prefer R&B it is strong to say that they have poor musical taste since it is after all a 'taste' or preference.

I'm not a fan of many genres but I would say that those who like it have poor taste.

Two points to mention though,

1) When a celebrity comes over people complain that it isn't another one. (How about we go one step at a time and people become more vocal and start a group about who they WANT to come rather than who they wish didn't come?)

2) We all encourage more variation.

I'm not a fan of Enrique's music but it's great that he's coming. I'm not a fan of half of Akon's songs but it's great that he's coming.

@zhyiellha, there are plenty of people in Qatar with criminal records allowed to enter if it's temporary and in the public's eye ;)

Well ... personally I am absolutely thrilled that he might be coming- LOVE AKON and cannot BELIEVE he would come here to Doha. I'm going to see him in Dubai on the 21st as well.

If only the organisers of these events werent such idiots- the newspaper last week said tickets would be on sale for Dubai today but no-one has any to sell yet.

Please get yourselves in order!! I'm dying for my ticket!! Stop teasing us!!

Campbell ... SOME people prefer RnB. Personally I don't. Most of my friends and peers don't.

It should be renamed as the Blues part of R&B just doesn't exist any more!

By tallg• 27 Apr 2009 10:09

Some RnB is good. And even bad RnB has it's place I guess. I just wondered why that's they only stuff that comes here.

By campbell_09• 27 Apr 2009 10:07
campbell_09

Tallg , People prefer RNB to Rock more , This does not entirely depends on the artist , its with the Event Mangement committeee , they prefer RNB , Hip - Hop , Reggae , Old skool classics . tey jus swagger ,

Theres is nothin u and i can do about it .

Oh yeah , but i wouldnt prefer Akon to come here, with that voice . i would go for Jay-Z maybe!

Well lets see , how this is gonna end up

By tallg• 27 Apr 2009 09:58
tallg

Why is it only these RnB "stars" who make the trip to Doha to perform (or don't make it, in most cases)?

Is it a reflection on the poor musical tastes of the people in Doha?

Or a reflection on the money grabbing nature of these artists in that they'll play anywhere for the right price?

Another crock-o-shite act (IMHO).

Screw that guy man, no doubt his songs are good but there is a only so much i can hear of AKON and his irritating whining voice! And whats up with all his songs being about meeting chicks in a club? I hope he doesnt come here.

Was at hotshots the other day and they were playing his cd and i started to get a headache after like 3 of his songs!

Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)
