Any experience with someone lying?
By Elegantlady •
A friend and I were talking about lies, and then I realized I haven't ever been told a really bad lie so far. We started a heated debate in which I supported the claim that most people don't tell really bad lies, while my friend insisted in people lying badly all the time. We couldn't come to a conclusion however now I want to know if some of you have had any bad experience with someone lying, to balance my point of view.
Please share your experiences

I think a lie can evaluated by three things:
1- Reason for a lie.
2- Implication of a lie.
If the liar had a good reason but the implication are severe for the one who is being lied to, then it a bad lie. some lies are better than saying the truth.
There is a lie for which I would go to appreciate it to any extent if it saves a life. You have to understand the whole intention behind a lie.
A common reason for lying is that people want to improve their image in front of others. They constantly wish to portray themselves as a successful individual. Exaggeration is anotherway of impressing others
@ flexicode: How do you define lie? I would define it as any attempt to mislead or convey false information to another person. It is possible to do this in several ways including withholding the whole truth or telling half truths. By that definition even the doctor is a liar.
There is a difference el, The doctor does not lie, instead holds back the truth for the right time to avoid hurting his patient.
Flexi.. what about the doctors who use to lie to their patients thinking that the patients will be hurt or give up hope by the bad news?
Most people in general are casual liars telling lies like "I forgot my phone in my car" in order to avoid someone, but a lawyer is a really bad .... ;)
Keep out of my way Dracula...u r a liar
Tnx Brit
Had bad experiences from liars... lies r always lies watever the cause b.. it shudnt b entertained too..
Please be very very very very careful. Dracula likes to lie. I caught him lying with many ladies :o(
Tattletale! :p
Tomayto- Tomaato!
A lie is a lie is a lie!
Once you lie, you need to change your entire way of life.. for eg: If someone lies abt being a millionaire, he has to behave like one to "justify" his lie.. But in the end, the truth will always prevail...
rope of lying is short!
"Il faut bonne mémoire après qu’on a menti"
Pierre Corneille ,
"Le Menteur"
(A good memory is needed once we have lied)
You lied once, you have to lie a 2nd time to cover the 1st lie...on and on....:D So having a good memory still wont be enough and somewhere at some point things ALWAYS get discovered...its just matter of time.
Whatt..wha...what was the question?
Dracula..
A good memory is needed once we have lied.Do u agree?
I am a Liar, but what I say is true.
I have two sides - me and me.
Only love for you keeps me sane and freak!

Bloody regards!
Lie is a Lie...it should not be there anyway. If you lied "for the Best.." - its just because you don't want to hurt someone. But the main point apparently you still had done something wrong and no need to cover it and let it go. We all care for the right actions of others. Transparency and the Honesty will set YOUR mind Free...
I hope that u don't meet anyone who tells lies
I'm over my head - forget what i said.
Baby i'm a liar.
When i told you i was hard to pin down...
Too many!
Who actually defines the term "Bad" ?
Simply put , a lie is a lie..
