I am yet another Australian moving permanently to Qatar in the next few months. Of course I have to try and bring all my belongings over, and am wondering what is the best way to ship them over. Any suggestions? Time isn't really an issue because I can send everything a month before I get there, but I would like to know the cheapest and most reliable way to ship my things.
If you do a search on www.google.com.qa for group you should find them. I am not sure if they have a contact number unless it is on the website. I received a reply within 1-2 days so perhaps give it time?

I have recently moved to Doha from Sydney and found there is a group of Australian and New Zealand expats called ANZIQ. I suggest joining their group as they have get together etc. They have a ball coming up on the 26th Feb.

yup.. i am too going to move to Doha next month... hope to join some groups or have things to do there...

They sell Kiwis at the grocery section in Carrefour, too.

The rugby club is the best place to meet Aussies and Kiwis. Good social scene there. Welcome to Doha mate.
Theres quite a few around but not as many as I thought when I first moved here.
Lots of Brits, and quite a few Kiwis and Australians.
