BBC RADIO 1 LEGEND - DAVE PEARCE - GLOBAL DJS - MAY 4TH
Taken from Paul Mendez post at global djs forum...
we cannot underline how massive this event is going to be, Dave Pearce has the most listeners of any dance show at Radio 1. his Sunday night 'Dance anthems' is an institution for listeners in the UK and worldwide on BBC world service and the Internet.
he has gaurenteed he is going to rock the socks of every one of you and i believe him as i have played with him before on numerous occasions and he is a big crowd favourite for one reason and one reason only 'he plays the music everyone wants to hear'!!! which a lot of cooler djs will refuse to do.
Please do not pass up this opportunity and make sure and be the on May 4th.

How did May 4th go? Big crowd?
MasterJay,
You still didn't explain to me what talent or skill it takes to cue a CD or record and what makes the person doing it a superstar. The music is from the talented people making the CD, maybe some interesting chatter or by-play while the music is loading, but talent, no-way.
Same on the radio, do people turn in for the music or to listen to the DJ talk? I don't mind your night out, I don't mind people spending their good money for an evening of music, what I don't understand is what talent the guy using someone elses music is showing. I understand why people want to join the crowd and listen to music, that is more fun in a crowd, but the DJ is just a worker doing a job that any low skilled labor type could do if someone told him what CD to play in what order.
And a DJ job in Qatar must be a starting place, I can't believe anyone would come here for that job.
Ok I never join the forum for this kind of information ... but somehow my e-mail was sent with your DJ's infos of whatever.
Obviously you got nothing better to do that stuffs people e-mail inbox with unwanted information.
HelloQatar...
You obviously are un educated when it comes to djing and dance music... I do not have the time to explain... one example... www.djtiesto.com
Let me ask you this? do like to moan for no reason because thats what it looks like to me... you came in with give it a break bla bla bla... You are not the only one who likes a night out... Dont slag what you dont undertsand.. its silly... this is the biggest event in doha to date... other than brian adams... so why dont you give it a break... its only information on a good night out... oh & get real...
What makes a superstar DJ? People must be hurting for heroes if a guy or girl cueing music is a superstar.
I am all for people spending their money anyway they want, I don't even have to understand, but give me live music anyday.
Hello Qatar...You obviously have no idea how big djs are now in the world of music.. Look at Dubai.. London etc etc its the same as we are doing.. Super star djs here we go...
Que Music... what u on about... its not 60's music...
Qwerty.. I would have to dissagree with u on that one... I would say it was more 65/35... and like u said.. before it was 55-45..
It was the middle of the month... Robbie williams in dubai.. other events hapening etc etc... Doesnt mean it wont go back to 55-45 on may 4th... As for the bar service... Thats what happens when u get a high number of people and we have no control over this anyway...
And no i wont give it a break... This part of the forum is for things going on in the forum...
You should be proud that qatar is moving forward and that it has such talent at its disposal... This is not a money thing... we do it for the love of music and nothing else... Ask anyone that knows us.. they no what we are all about...

The DJ’s parties at the Diplomatic Club are spoilt by the disastrous bar service! You have to queue for a bar ticket then queue again for a drink, if your extremely lucky they will have what you want.
Additionally, when I went to the first and second gigs, the mix of men to women was roughly 55-45, which was good for Doha. However, the last gig was more like 85% men to 15% women.
Speaking of clubs etc, what a disaster Admiral’s (Ritz-Carlton) has become since the Pearl (Marriott) opened. I went there the other evening for the first time in 6-months, what a mistake! I am ashamed to say that it was full of low-life, sleazy Arabs and East European women…shame.
Free tickets? Hmmm....now that would be good advertising Jay. Run a competition on the site and give away a few free tickets to the good folk of Qatar Living.
Me, I'm not into the whole "beep-beep-doof-doof-beep" genre of music. Now maybe if it was Franz Ferdinand.....
Qatari, I hope you are charging for the advertising...or at least getting free tickets
Master Jay,
Give it a break, you sound like a used car saleman on US TV. Hope this is the last time we have to hear about impoted DJ's. What kind of talent does it take to cue music?
dude, it is cool that you post here but try to lay off the ALL CAPITALS in the title...it hurts my eyes! ;)
