Nothing quite says it for me like a book does. I just love reading books and trying very hard to pass my passion onto my kiddo. Sadly though she's not as enthusiastic, and yes prefers the convenience of the net!
I guess, nowadays, people can't seem to find time to sit down and read a book. I love to read if the book seems interesting for me. Since I don't have access to some books, I just look up the internet for some articles or some E-books.

I love my books too. I've just finished colouring in my fourth one this month ..
don't argue. books are still existing so probably there are still bunch of people out there find time reading them.

The benefits from books is not gathering information, but to develop your brain's imagination and knowledge and logic.
Lets not forget about grammar and vocabulary.
