Camera With 35X Optical Zoom

Hey folks,
To those who are planning on a compact camera with extreme capabilities, Canon has released a new camera last September with 25mm-860mm Zoom range (35x). Canon is the first to release a camera with such a long range of optical zoom. See more here..!

Thank you for the responses buddies, This is not a compact camera. It is a premium compact(means: similar to DSLR but does not allow lens change). I hear it is sold for around 2600QAR here in Qatar - at Salam Studios. I am sure the price is too much. May be an online purchase might bring down the price.. The online prices i found ranged from 400 USD onwards..

It is not small, my friend got one here in Doha, perhaps he got the first one sold in Doha's Canon dealer. The camera is great, except I would not call it a compact anymore, the lens fully retracted is still long outside the body

SX200IS canon was the one with maximum optical zoom available in a compact, 14x. Now 35x in a compact yet again by canon. great!!!. But isn't it quite bulky to be called a compact?
