Cleaning & picnic SeaLine beach on 31st Oct.
Some 50 people belonging to the Qatar Living Group cleaned up a stretch of the beach after they reached the spot as part of a family get-together organised by the online community.
According to ‘Speed’, a member of the group who spearheaded the drive, the team found the beach in a “very dirty condition” and swung into action immediately.
“I can say that this is part of our community service and charitable activities,” he said.
“The main purpose of our outing yesterday was to go on a picnic with our family and friends. But we found the beach unkempt with a huge pile of bottles, cans and pizza boxes spread all around,” he said.
According to him, though there were about three to four trash bins kept on the beach, they were placed far from where people sit, thus making it difficult to reach them.
“I think the municipal authorities have to do something to reduce the distance between the shelters and the bins (on the beach) because this is one of the main reasons for people littering the place,” he said.
“They find it difficult to carry their left-overs and refuse to the bins after spending the day on the beach. So you see the bins are not serving the purpose well.”
Speed said the volunteers collected about 20 bags of garbage and debris before they were forced to leave by a sudden burst of hailstorm.
Apart from cleaning the beach, the group engaged in a number of activities, including a training session on safe driving.
“We had a trainer from Dubai, who took us through the rudiments of defensive driving and some ladies were given the chance to drive into the storm by themselves just to get over their fear. We also did some dune-driving.”
The group plans to continue with such activities, according to Speed.

LoL RedRope !!!
The next time that I visit the Sea Lane,
I'm taking with me, my metal detector, i'll bet you, that I will find lots of hidden treasures like gold chains and gold rings. Not counting the metal garbage that you pull out.
When I was in college, after a beach festival, I use to scout the beach areas with my metal detector, normally I would profit about 1500- USD in one week from all the lost jewelry that I use to find and pound locally.
It bought my books and my semester enrollment monies.
If I strike Zero, then I will do like Burt Reynolds in the movie "stick," Just go for a run in the beach in a diving suit, then for a spear fishing session with out fins. LOL
The metal detector story is true.
Enjoy

Red pope… I do it either ways, forward and reverse, and I could do this whole day long…
Greentea… when we went there I found the surface of the beach very uneven, so it was just a try to make the surface even….

Hey, Why not trying to driving your jeep in reverse at that speed?
Anyhow, is real good, that you drove your car in the beach and not in the rocks.
Please, When you decide to sell your Jeep, please don't post: ' Lady driving Jeep' or 'never was 4x4 off roading in the desert," Your video speaks differently.
Nice jeep dude.

I grilled right through the storm on another part of the beach...And the calm and clear afterwards was worth it...
