Cube.. been there a few times, more like 30 guys to 1 girl.

There is a live band there everynight. They are somewhat loud but not bad.

The place feels more like a food court or a blue light disco with the lights dimmed down a bit.

Popcorn is complimentary and the booze isnt too badly priced.

Thankfully we were staying in the hotel so we didnt have to que in a massive line to get the 'membership' card.

If you make it to closing time best to head out to the car park. You'll see alot of people tanked to the hilt and you might possibly even catch a fight. Remember, 30 to 1.. its alot of competition ;)

Oh and you gotta head to dairy cream at the end of the night - its like a 24hr burger king full of teenagers but even more shenanigans.

i lived there before, and yes i like to hang to the club with my husband sometime, at hilton they have great western jazz band.

They are great, so elegant and class. does qatar have something similar?

Yo truth 321, I must say that you do seem very negative about Doha in general. And yes, if you do want to do some clubbin go to Qatar's premier DJ event, aimed at hardcore clubbers like your good self. But please do not complain when you get home about your wife getting groped and harassed. Every girl I know that has been to one of the previous events has left it fuming.

And to be honest, if you wanted to be somewhere for a clubbin nightlife, you've come to the wrong place.

Accept that people consider places like the Qube a club because it just different to all the other bars in Qatar.

I prefer to have DJ at the CUBE than to have the same band always singing the same songs.

By Mike• 12 Dec 2006 13:18

I think the QUBE would be better without the bands.Or the band can play until 0:00am, and from 0:00 am till the end, it would be better to have a DJ playing, because most people going out and coming at the QUBE want to dance on DJ music as in a disco club. You can also notice that each time the DJ plays,we can see many people dancing but if the band comes back, many of them stop dancing and go to seat.

I have nothing against the band, but if I decide to go out, I prefer to have a DJ playing.

Don't drink... at all, only water or soft drinks. You don't want to numb your mind...you want your senses to be fully awaken. Only then you can have a great clubbing experience.

Enjoy the music...And go to Spain :P

Dvargas I enjoyed your words of wisdom when clubbing, especially point 4:

"Point 4- Have a cell phone available with good numbers in store in case ""feces???"" happen."

I'm sorry to hear that you can't control your bowel movements when out. I guess Tuth321 has been inviting you over to partake in some "clubbing"!

I tell you this truth, because I'm your friend, just please don't call me when feces happens ok?

By drake• 4 Dec 2006 19:38

Truth321 why would you go to Qube, which I'm sure you knew had a live Phlipino band, to go clubbing? If you didn't know, you could have done everyone a favor and turned right back around, politely asked for your money back and went to The Pearl. Then you could have started a forum what a crappy "clubbing bar the Pearl is and compare apples to apples.

Using your brilliant comparisons, I guess I should go to Global DJs Dec 7 and then complain the next day that there wasn't a Filipino band or live music.

Drake, you have obviously never been to places like Miss Moneypenny's or Cream etc, if you have then you must be blind.

As for dancing in front of a mirror and doing bump and grind with male friends well you certainly have a vivid imagination, perhaps you frequent such clubs as the Blue Oyster Bar or Fluffy Pink Flamingo's, perhaps that is more your scene!

As for not being interested in the opposite sex good point but then im married, and yep both myself and wife are what could be termed as hardened clubbers having spent time in the majority of the best clubs in the world.

I shall leave you to your choice of clubs as mentioned earlier....where you can bump and grind with men as that is obviously at the top of your thoughts!!

P.S. your not one of the men that has been hastling Tyler by any chance????

By drake• 2 Dec 2006 18:03
drake

Truth 321, you could buy a full length mirror, get dressed up, throw on some club music, and impress yourself all night in front of it. Maybe invite some some of your male friends over while your at it to join in on the bump and grind, since you're not interested in the opposite sex when you go out:)

Brainsalad you went there and some chinese lady offered you some deal? You are joking arent you I mean no one could be that seedy and be proud of it? Dvargas you didnt enlighten us with your wisdom of clubbing????? Anyone who knows about clubbing knows its not about standards, its about the music, the dancing the adrenaline! Not about pulling some sweaty speck who comes up to you with his checked shirt and fetching gold necklace! Thanks guys for making me giggle!! The cube a club he he he!!!

Guys a lebanese club very nearly happened in one of the major hotels, unfortunatly the person in question left Qatar (he was a good friend and I knew his plans and trust me its a complete shame it never went further!!!)

Places like the Buddha Bar would go down a treat here, or something not quite so big as Ministry of Sound, Liquid, Pasha

Happy hunting, we all need the entertainment

you're right spoerry, for real clubbing go to lebanon or wait for a lebanese to open a club in doha like what happened in dubai with c.bar

Some good parties though, sometimes : Admirals, Pearl, provided that there is enough alcohol in the blood.

For clubbing, better fly to Lebanon ...

To the majority of people whom have attended real clubs, go for the music, to get dressed up to impress not only others but themselves.

Many clubs are just institutions to carry on drinking after normal club closing time and to pick up members of the opposite sex.

Real clubbing....IS.... music, dancing not what has been described on here. This is not just my opinion, there are many clubbing web pages, and you will find it hard pressed to find a description of what is described on this forum.

Have you ever been to Ibiza? granted the drug scene is far to prevalent there but it is all about fun music and dancing, not about picking up women!

Well if thats what you want to go to the Doha night clubs for then thats your deal.

Night life in Qatar hmmmm is there such a thing? From what I can tell they are full of Philipino women and old western men with a few other undesirables in.

Doha amongst many other cities in the world have a lot to learn about night clubs, what makes them good and what makes them bad. Predominantly what makes them bad are the clients that frequent them, in the case of Doha they will always be bad.

Face facts if you got to a nightclub to pick up women (of any culture) then your not in to clubbing!

I went on Thursday and had a good time with some friends. I thought the band was pretty good, maybe I was hypnotized by the daisy duke shorts the singers were wearing though.

Everyone that had went before me summed it up as feeling like a warehouse and it's mostly due to the white walls I think. Kinda reminded me of a high school dance in the gymnasium, buncha guys standing around leering at the girls. Hopefully after the Asian Games they will take everyone's advice and at least paint the walls and dim the lights to iimprove the atmosphere of the place.

The ratio of guys to girls was about the same as everywhere else, 10 guys to 1 girl.

the place is just too big that it doesn't make the room pleasant. just my opinion though.

i went tuesday, i thaught it was pretty poor tbh, lots of working women and a bad philipino coversband playing rock ballards of the 80s.

the design is interesting, nothing like a propper nightclub, far too bright, no disco lighting, very restrictive about upstairs couples/vip area. it reminded me of nightclubs you see in american movies-pretty synthetic and fake.

i couldnt work out the booze pricing policy a Bourbon and coke cost the same price as a coke, and everyone from work had rank hangovers despite quitting at 11.30

yes its owned and staffed by ramada.
