Dunno, but if ever I have another child, I'm opting for elective c-section. I was having a home birth and was in my birthing pool and then was rushed to hospital because of high blood pressure. They then made me go through all the labour pains and kept telling me to push and then I was whisked off for an emergency c-section!

Too right I'm too posh to push next time!

whyteknight..it must be a sensor of the brain which gets the impulses from the nerve ends..

stronger the impulse...higher the pain...and this may be transduced in the sensor to get readable output..

i guess it must be like that..

I am just wondering snessy how do they measure pain. I know I can't handle childbirth, You women are really tough to handle it :)

the pain is actually helpful to generate the pressure downwards and push out the baby..

..i dont know about this injection..

now a days the women take an injection and she doesn't feel anything while delevery .

deliveries in water are less painful....some scientists have done some experiments successfully.

There are painless deliveries too nowadays.

i didnt say 'all'..

ladies who are more concious of their figure go for normal.. but some, especially for the second or third delivery prefer cesarian.

ofcourse..if their is a complication, that case is different and i am not talking about those..

not all rishi..sometimes some complications force them to go for c-section..

nowadays many modern expecting mothers are so afraid of the pain that they want to go for cesarian instead..

Well i m a MOTHER of a baby girl and truly agreed with jasimthani..

its so painful for mother..

yes..that's why the mother loves their kids even the father is bad to them...

this is why in islam a woman has a high status since she bears more pain and the prophetic saying (hadeeth) goes : paradise lies under the feet of your mother. A woman by nature loves a child more than man.
