Beware of frauds..

a person has approached my friend for some money for doing some business.  He has given reasons that he lost his job and going to deal with iron and copper.  He convinced my friend and took the money.

The money is lost for sure.

The person approaches the parents of his son or daughter or such people whom he meets while socialising.

Beware and dont lend any money to any of your countrymen.

We are here to do our work and be honest to the Country.

I fully agree with the comments made by Tandursih. True these incidents make us to lose interest in helping friends, colleagues or other really needy fellas in future.

We have wasted our 4000/- as he promised to pay it back home during vacation...he said he is short of riyals now, but has a sizable bank balance there. I was suspecting something fishy, but my hubby couldn't refuse him... and finally lost... But there are some genuine cases as well…and our little help can do a lot for someone in real need.

I am glad that you people have the honesty of disclosing this very sad reality of Indian community in Doha. Most of these crooks pick on their own countrymen because they tend to trust their own country people easily, and secondly, they are very less likely to make a police complaint against their own community member. But fellas, make it a point to report these incidernces. You are not doing any favour to your own countries image by not re[porting them.

Well I had faced similar experiences too. One of working family from Andhra (husband n wife work as salesman and housemaid respectively) borrowed QR. 4,000/- from me 2 years back promising to repay the loan within 3 months. Even after 2 years they have no intention to pay back loan. Every 6 months they keep changing their SIM Cards. Another two minor cases I lost QR. 250/- (lent to Keralite known guy) and QR. 150/- (lent to a messenger working in bank).
