I knew a girl who worked there (Corniche Maternity?)but for the life of me can't remember her name. Just remember her from the British Club.

We were there from 1999 to 2004.

Been back once and it had changed an awful lot.

Bigger and busier. Still miss it though, especially Abela Supermarket and Spinneys.

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.

I worked in the lovely hospital right next door to the Sheraton....!

Was it a Tuesday night at Hemingways? Think they still do!

I'm the same, I like Qatar but Abu Dhabi is singles heaven (sort of) with a great nightlife and fantastic beach clubs..

I went back in October...My God! Has it changed! Its huge!

I left there in 2002......7 years ago this month!

over 7 years ago. We miss it so much but I have been told it has changed. The Corniche is bigger etc. Don't know Rockbottoms, NRG?

Oh and ghosts near the American Embassy.

So we just keep to the thread.

We also used to go to The Sheraton by the beach. Or as it is now, Sheraton not by the beach.

We started off living on Hamdam Street in the Al Noor Hospital building and then moved twice. Sorry folks but I do miss it.

Not that I don't like Qatar, I do but I think of Abu Dhabi and I think of something to do every weekend and always something to do at night.

Do you know if Hemingways do the free whine (sic) for girls on a Wednesday?

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.

Aahh, Hiltonia and the Captains! My regular hangouts well, Hiltonia in the day,Captains at night..Rockbottoms afterwards, NRG for sport!

Great place!

Haunted houses aye. What kind of survey?

Never went to Ramadam at the American Embassy. But loved the club for the quizzes. Hiltonia for how great the food was and the bar in the swimming pool and the Captains Arms for sport.

How I miss it all.

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.

Ahh, Ramadan at the American Embassy, Abu Dhabi...my word...ahem..reminiscing there!

Yep, I know that the people that stayed there after me felt and saw things!!

I lived near the American Embassy.

Just behind the BMW garage next to The One.There were at that time, a bunch of oldish villas, really nice ones though and one of them was supposed to have been haunted.

They have been knocked down and newer villas put there.

Be interesting to see if people in the new villas say the same as those who lived in the old ones.

I don't believe in ghosts but I have heard spooky stories and some of them at the time did make me feel we may not be alone.

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.

Yep, strange feelings of a presence, mirror 'thrown' off wall right in front of us, hearing footsteps loudly down the corridor at night when the other inhabitants were out, sightings of shadows, feeling of being watched...just a general eeriness! This was in an apartment block....Al Rumaithy buildings off Electra??? Ring any bells?

Greetings, I am a reporter with an Abu Dhabi newspaper. I am interested in finding out where this apartment is and to talk to the current residents to see if they are having any strange experiences for possible story. Would you kindly tell me what went on there and where it is exactly ? Thanks. [email protected]
