Go to Katara, the valley of cultures. Listen to some classical music and relax. It's an awesome and unwinding experience. Been there three times in a last couple of months and it's magic. Besides - Doha is boring. Yea you make more money than wherever you come from but is it enough to compensate for what you've left behind back home? That's probably another topic or five. Carpe diem and chin up i guess...

I'm afraid exciting and Doha do not come hand in hand. Activities are limited unless you spend big bucks and go out every night! You can organize or get invited to house parties though, interesting enough to meet new people.

I agree with runn1409, but, if taking the food advice, I would add that you keep a large supply of antibiotics on hand.

I jog down the corniche in my spandex shorts and Bose QuietComfort headphones ..

and try as hard as u can not to get caught up in the sun...

get a big salary... don't stay here during Ramadan... visit everything you can see... try every type of food and drink you can find... even if you know you will not like it...
