Iftar for the book lovers’ souls!
Ramadan is a time when people come closer to god through fasting.
I went to the Jarir Book Stall a few hours back and reached about 15 minutes prior to the shop’s opening time after Iftar.
I saw a huge congregation, a long queue which had already been formed, in front of the shop. I could see people moving about inside the store, cleaning up the place and generally making it a neater place for the waiting crowd outside.
I had gone there to shop for books. It struck me that the soul of the book lover in me was actually waiting for iftar time, when the Jarir Book Stall would open. I found the thought amusing.
Full marks to the staff at Jarir. They were punctual and opened the shop’s doors at exactly 8.30pm.
I know I’m late, but Ramadan Kareem to all my Muslim brothers and sisters.
Where ever I look in Doha, I see crowds and queues ,...crowds and queues,...!!!
Jarir will stay open from 8pm until 1am in the morning.
What time does Jarir bookstore close?
If you think that's busy, you should see the crowd outside Lulu Hypermarket just before it's evening opening time!
Although I must correct you, because that's not a queue :P
If YOU are going through C-ring road from Toyota signal,
Go straight, You will get Gulf cinema signal
Still go straight, You will get Muntaza Signal
Again Straight, You will get Muntaza Petrol station signal
Again Staight, You will get Ramada Signal-
Take LEFT from Ramada Signal, after 200 meter, YOU can see it on YOUR right side.
