Is it True that Life begins at Forty?

jpa
By jpa

When I was in the university, one of my professors told our class that Life begins at forty.

She said that when we reached the age of forty, we should already accomplish or attain most of our dreams and ambitions.

In a way she is right.

Professional accomplishmet, good family life, steady savings, real estate properties.

For you, does life begins at forty?

I think Men are the one who was intended in this assumption ...

but it is not a life begin , it is a new teen age period ..

the taste of life is diffirent at this age and sure for those who succeeded in their life it is getting more interesting to afford whatever you wish to have or do .

now I am 47 ... still feel that alot to be done and I will do if God preserved more life for me .

all you should have to do is keeping ur heart young then you will remain young ...

this remind me of the story where a man passed by a graveyard .. all the signs are showing the dead people aged very short .. 2 yrs , 3 yrs , maximum 10 yrs .. when he asked why they are diying young he was told that the age here is the time they lived in happiness .

keep ur self happy ...

good luck for all

its just a clichéd phrase..based on some assumptions in the yester years..this is not relevant during present times.

life is all about being happy and feeling satisfied with what you want to do or achieve here..

the same could come to you much earlier or much later in life..

nowadays, there are so many opportunities in the world to become successful, one doesnt need to toil for 20 years to get rich or climb up the corporate ladder..

on the other hand, with so much of anxiety and tension in the job, people tend to catch irreversible illnesses at about 40 which would deprive them of enjoying themselves the good things in life..

so guys, life begins when u start having a good time..

My psychology teacher explained that to us - Life begins at forty: She said men always say that, it's bcoz that's the time where they feel so insecure about themselves. It's like the menopausal stage on women. When they reached the age of forty, if they're married they try to be cool with women, try to have a relationship with women other than their wives so they could prove to themselves that they're still young...pardon to all the men with age 40 and above..i just shared what my teacher said...i don't know if this is really true..i hope not..

Do this mean when 40, you're half way of a man's lifetime of 80? Today, life expectancy is 65, so would it be acceptable to say "LIFE BEGINS AT 32"?

No, I don't agree that real life begins at middle age. I believe, once a person realizes responsibility and starts acting upon his plans as early as 20's, that's real life. When there's an opportunity, why wait til 40? I rather believe "Early to start, early to retire."

Believe!

commonly we thought life is when we are having wealth, health and other things. we measure our success or the beauty of our life when we are succeeding into our chosen career.

when you reach 40 and above, many things will change. you will look life differently. from your view of health,wealth, success and others.

paradigm shift will take place. that is basically my basis of life begins at forty.

I think every age has its beauty but our problems sometimes is that we realise the beauty of a certain age once it is gone!

Back to 40...I think it is true that 40 is the best if and only if you have been sucessful in the past 40 years whatever that success may mean to you..

jpa,

your teacher missed the real essence of saying life begins at 40.

commonly, at 40 illnesses started to appear. this is the year where you will realize if you took care of your health well during your younger days.

this is the time of your life where you can check and realize who your real friends are.

this is the year of life where you can say if the business or your chosen career is really worth keeping.

this is the time of your life where you are trying to look back and decide to stop or continue whatever you think is best.

career,family, dream came true, premium bank accounts, those are just part of life, but those are not life itself.

yes, life indeed starts at forty.

I love this poem and I send it to all my friends who keep chasing success.........

The Success…..

To laugh often and love much;

To win the respect of intelligent persons

and the affection of children;

To earn the approval of honest critics

and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty;

To find the best in others;

To give off one’s self without the

slightest thought of return;

To have accomplished a task, whether

by a healthy child, a rescued soul, a

garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;

To have played and laughed with

enthusiasm and sung with exaltation;

To know that even one life has breathed

easier because you have lived;

This is to have succeeded.

Who has seen the future?? Y to wait till one attends the age of 40??? One shld enjoy each n every moment of life..LIFE IS PRECIOUS even today and even when someone attends 40 or grow more old..But its true to some extent..I have seen the cases where men n women find themselves almost settled by that age..They have money, kids, even own house, vehicle and what not by that age..So its a old phrase by our ancestors that the life gets calm n settled by 40...Personally, i won't go with this thought..I believe in living every second of my life..

no life doesn't begin when you are conceived..........life begins when you know how to live and start living it.........it is that moment of life which tells you 'your life is not only about you, your existence is a just a small chapter of your complete story. You live when you understand the relevance of your existence in your own story.........strange,but give it a thought. You are the result of what happened before you and what you do will affect the future to come...........we don't live until we understand our role in this bigger show.
