Living [AT] Doha
I am moving to Doha soon...
How is life? What is the common/best entertainment for people there?
How relaxed/stressed are people and work there? What is the average amount of vacation days that I have to reuqest? and How do people spend their time after working? (night life, sea, sports, etc...)
Too many questions huh?
hi,
I am interested to meet Mauritanian people at doha qatar
[email protected]
hi,I am arab man at doha
looking forward to see this city
I heard that Rydge's and Qube are full of hookers, but hadn't noticed any in Irish Harp (my new favourite spot for drinking beer). But getting to Cardozo's question - life in Doha is what you make of it. Unfortunately, if this is your first overseas posting and you are a citizen of the US, life here may be something of a culture shock. It all depends on how open you are to new cultures, mixed cultures, no culture, mad driving, double standards, inadequate infrastructure, tinker, tailor, soldier sailor. You get my drift, right? If you can adapt, if you are willing to get caught up in the frenzy of an exploding economy, if you can find a school for your kids and a dentist that won't want to take your right arm in payment for a couple of fillings and a polish then, like me, you might even grow to love the place with the same kind of fondness that a family has for an elderly aunt who pees herself on the dining room chair at Xmas. Loveable in small doses, but always eager to get away from her for a while. Am I rambling again? Where' the sherry?
without QL I wouldn't have had so many chums here in Qatar - you have a good sense of humour! Please don't make me think you are a troll - you are far too nice to be one :D
nite nite honey you too :)
sleep well and sweet dreams
;-)

Novita - How can I say no after seeing how helpful people are here.
Check my question and how much valuable information I got... Not sure if all people down there are that helpful but if yes... it is heaven ... hot version though :)
Come baby come...
Pure Love...
QL'er turned into nutter around this time of the day ... i better go to bed now. Nite everyone...
@CQM ... dont you have work to do tomorrow?
ahem, i'll just stick to typing away on my little comp *looks nervously around the room*

wow scary stuff.....will i ever find out??
ehh? Recommended me?!what does that mean?? Like the masons sort of thing?
ROFL...honestly Alexa some of your comments crack me up..always hit the nail on the head...
Alexa said And ask nicely....keep ...
And ask nicely....keep the tourettes at bay for that......
I asked nicely

lol I just said right mr. how to join the QLSG :) oh god will that do?
PM the group's boss DaRuDe ...
How do I get in there??
lol I would hun! I'm more the bar type not the pics type tho!
you will find the life style is different from US.. not better, not worse..just different and it's up to you to like it or to hate it....
i personally enjoy in here Despite endless obstacles than come across and you have deal with…lol…
Just today QT, new guy in Doha got f*** frustrated when he tried to book a taxi, and has been told to wait 3 hours for the cab!!! Isn’t that frustration??? But hamdullilla, some QLers helped him, and gave him a ride….
But later tonight this guy will probably go to Irish Harp or Rydges, or somewhere else and will enjoy the atmosphere in there and will be lauging at this small accident with the taxi...this is a life...
so... come here, explore Doha, enjoy it!
Welcome to Qatar!!!

Sun and I
Err Jauntie that would probably be the situation, I see some Brit humour coming out here, so yep would say that would happen!
hee
I do that all the time in reality. Be interesting if we are together at a party :/
Two innaproptiate persons together.
Would that be like a sort of:
'oi you! That was innapropriate - come outside and say that again!' situation?
jauntie + supernurse = %^&*()(*%^54
lol...i guess Q helps bring out the qualities in us we like to forget...
Cardozo ... so to come or not to come ?
YOU ROCK... What a website!!!
lol noooo, i've had this affliction for a long time...its just manifesting itself now lol
true Novi....friends make a big difference...
Supernurse...has qatar had this affect on you...lol.....
lol sort of, you know the illness that makes you say innapropriate things? Thats me but a cyber version.......
ooops ... i am afraid you will always see cyber trots wherever you go ... like any other forums.
3 weeks to see are really true. I have done inland sea, dhow trip, dukhan and all those million times. The only thing that make it enjoyable i am doing it with different crowd of people.
life in Doha is bearable when you make your friend and try to make the most of it.
cyber tourettes? Is that like verbal diarrhea? as in the cyber trots ..
when my sister came to stay with me, I'd lived here for about a year and in two weeks I concluded I'd done it all.
But then I realised I hadn't QUITE seen it all, when QLSG organised a dhow trip to an off-shore island.
If you make friends, you are never lonely ..
However, Qatar is about the size of Greater London and Greater London would probably take you more time to get around.
cardozo ... alexa have summon it up pretty well. Qatar living social group is the best way to meet people when you get here.
any other more specific question you have just shout away ...
Alexas post is the most accurate and funnniest....the bit about taking three weeks to see it all....very true...
Jauntie, lets say I have a bit of cyber Tourettes....I'm nice and peaceful really......
and I mean that, sincerely !
however, if I lived in mauritania, I would probably be on Mauritania Living...sorry to be cocky....
blah blah blah....If I wasn't in Qatar I wouldn't be on here......
I worry about you - you say you aren't in Qatar? Or maybe you are, I don't know because I'm not on line a lot at the moment, but you seem really rather harsh (even COCKY ?) in your comments about people here. May I ask, in the nicest possible way, .. why?
Supernurse - I have been reading all the site pages and forum questions - Thanks for your VALUABLE suggestion!!!
Again... don't feel that you have to be present on this post... The questions are for those who are here to help and share not to teach and give lessons!
its great place

How relaxed/stressed are people and work there?
You asked that, and you receive some stress answers from supernurse, now you can see some of us are stressed and some of us are relaxed...
The Venezuelan Sensation!!!
There is a lot of things to do here, lot of people to met and lots of hours to work LOL.
Just worry about your salary and home. the rest is a piece of cake.
Cheers.
The Venezuelan Sensation!!!
then instead of writing cocky remarks search for the information you require! The whole site will give you valuable info on life in Qatar!
and I stick by mine ;)
I'm not taking it bad....don't worry...I stick by my reply
Hey supernurse... don't take it bad... I am joking with novita... Also don't feel at any time that you have to answer my post.
I got the first answer... There is stress in the air ;)
if you 'want' all the answers on one page, I suggest that you do your own research and not expect others to do it for you.......I want doesn't get...
then i will have to spend all day to type the answer for you I am out to take my mum to the airport, i will get back to you and write something later.
Emmm... Because I want to have all the answers on one page... Typically management thinking ;)
Thanks for the link
