I've been telling white lies to my beloved..

I love her so much and don't want to lose her, so I told her that I was an executive and to make matters worse, I told her I'm from Texas...

I'm still working on the accent and learning to walk in cowboy boots, but i'm only doing it for fear of losing her...

The problem is that lies are always found out - sooner or later.. And then you're in even deeper kimchee...

So don't lie in the first place..

i met my girlfriend when i was still married to my wife... I tried to keep both as they were in different countries.. she found out i was still married and text my wife,, my wife throw me out of my house.. we eventually got divorced. I went back to my girlfriend when my wife kicked me out as i wanted to make a go of it.. so went back to my girlfriend, but she never trusted me, it broke us up after 5 yrs, because i felt she would always be watching my every move. she said that she learned to trust me, but I found out that she had laid some traps to make sure i was behaving. because of the lies , even though we had great times together and loved each.. we didn't trust one another... so don't lie... be honest from the start is my advice

tess as i mentioned before some lies are to be told sometimes to save a relationship, lets not call it lies perhaps we dont tell them something they would not like to hear or would hurt them. coz once u put something in the mind of your partner its really not easy to get it out of their system and its always going to keep growing and cause problems in ur relationship.

brit, my Dad wouldn't be able to attend the funeral anyway. As i mentioned my Grandma use to live in a different city. And there was no way my Dad could make 2-3 hours flight, considering his post-heartattack condition. It could upset him even more. So i think it was the only right decision, to hold it till he gets better..

Islam doesn't say that speak truth, but it focuses on HAQ.

Take an example, if someone is chased by some persons who wants to hurt him/her and that person knocks your and requested for asylum in your home. You let him/her in your home. Afterward, those persons knock your door and asked about him/her; what will you tell them at that time, truth or lie? Yes, obviously lie because that lie will save a life. It is called HAQ......

So always speak HAQ........

I know of a similar case, but the person involved resented the fact that she was unable to attend the funeral and was angry with the family for quite a long time.

depends on what the purpose is... when my Grandma passed away, my family managed to hide it from my Dad for few month..Grandma use to live in a different city, and my Dad only communicated with her and his sister over the phone… at that time he just had a heart attack and was recovering from it.. the news about his Mom could kill him… Later, when he was ok, my family found the way to tell him very carefully about it..this brought him back to quite hard condition for a while again, but at least probably we have saved his life by actually lying to him, as he always asked how is she, and his sister had to answer that she is fine…

we lie to protect someone, to avoid hurting someone, to cover our craps and screw-ups but whatever the reason is for lying, its still unfair, wrong.

wait, you can lie if your partner asks you

"do these pants/shirt make me look fat?". ;o)

cheers,

love and lies... is it fair? is there anything that is fair in this world?

By anonymous• 22 Nov 2008 20:43

Any lie will catch up with you someday. Once you've spoken it, the lie exists. It will not go away. There is no escape for it. It is confined within this universe. You will see it again one day. Probably when you need it least.

By smoke• 22 Nov 2008 20:20

from what i've learnt YES its ok to lie "what u dont know wont kill you" if something you know will upset that person its better not to tell them. This fact of course is subject to how well you are able to lie, and if it will let u sleep in peace at night.
