When I moved here a few months ago, I hoped that Qatar would attract a REAL hip hop artist that represents the culture, with intelligent lyrics, and beats with soul...
Instead, we have MIMS...a wack artist with no originality.
I'm passionate about hip hop so excuse my bitterness lol....maybe it's because I'm from New York and know what hip hop is supposed to sound like. For example, if you don't know who DJ Premier or Pete Rock is, that's a good place to start. Maybe it's my own bias toward the direction musicians have taken commercial hip hop over the last 10 years, turning it into a money making circus with a bad reputation and copycat artists. Or, maybe it's because I am a hip hop producer myself and know the dedication and skills necessary to make quality music...doing it for the love of the music and NOT for $$$.
So, until then...enjoy MIMS :P
For the record, everyone who won tickets ATTENDED with the tickets that they won and they liked the event..
