New rule - No extension for tourist visa
By ronstevenson18 •
There is no more extensions for tourist visa as of the new rule , one month is the maximum you can get it. You have to leave qatar and enter to obtain an ew visa.
I had to learn the hard way
For those who get visa on arrival, they are eligible for another 1 month extension. There are no further extensions after this. This is very easy, applied for my wife and daughter today, went to the Passport and Immigration at Meisameer, took a token for visa extension, went to the counter, paid 100QAR each and job done. As easy as it could be and straight forward. Literally was out of the office in less than 10 minutes.
If you require more than 1 extension, then you would have to exit and enter, no other way.
the son has beed staying here (with her mother) for more than two months (last Dec. 1) and asking for a second extension, right, Mr. OP?
Usually its not from what i hear but in this case its a 4 month old baby...thats why i asked about the mother if she's also here on tourist or visit.
Sometimes they need to make exceptions to their rules but then again this is Qatar :P
Yeah, additionally i am not sure if tourist visa would be allowed to transfer to RP?
Oh ok sorry thought you misunderstood the situation :P
Anyways like you i'm also thinking why a tourist visa for a baby? Where is your wife? Is she here too under tourist visa? Its better to apply for a visit visa and not tourist visa and then transfer that to RP
Smoke, I mean to say tourist visa for 4 months old baby.
volcanopetal please read properly his SON IS ONLY 4 MONTHS ONLY. not the visa.
but then how can you say it's not extension? Extension usually means increasing stay. you mean to say you can't transfer from touriest visa to RP!
And I am bit confused for 4 months, how can toriest visa possible?
Not under ban period , my son came as a tourist he is only 4 months old , and then we were planning to change the visa from tourist to an rp under my sponsor , not possib le|!
But why you need to extend touriest visa? Are you under ban period?
tourist was generally for one month only.
Rules in Qatar change on a day to day basis.. I just extended our employee stay last month for two months without any hassle, she was Spanish.. Sorry to hear that you had to go through a lot of trouble..
Would you possibly know if this applies on family visit visa and visa on arrival as well?
Such information is never updated/available on websites nor does anyone know it for sure and its sad to know that one has to learn such things that hard way!!
