Yes, it does appear to be a gazelle.  Still horrific to do this as a pastime.

Illegal exotic pets are big business worldwide.  Authorities only scratch the surface apparently.

And though it's a sin to needlessly kill the gazelle, I can't believe these people have an incredibly endangered spieces as a PET!  Where are the authorities in this!  Cheetahs are not pets!

It's not an Oryx it's a Gazelle, note the twisted horns, Oryx have straight horns, they are also lighter in colour.

But then that cheetah should not be wearing a leash.....it's not a domestic pet....it should be released...and IF this had occured naturally in the wild, then I wouldn't be half as disgusted!

Stay safe.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?

The meat will proberbly used to feed the cheetah. that one gazelle is enough to food for that one cheetah to last 3-4 days.

when it's natural its the question of survival.... what is disgusting is those idiots enoying this cruel act...

For all out there that find this cruelty, do you feel the same way when a domestic cat hunts a mouse or rat. As I see it there is no differerance in the  two . Just lager Cat bigger Rat.

If it's a gazelle and not an oryx then it's probably not illegal, as I don't think gazelle are protected.

Very BAD !!!

I pray next the the Cheetah to chase those guyz instead of Oryx , Cow  or Dinasour's .......

We are not talking about a natural occurence here....we are talking about a bunch of clowns setting it all up and capturing it on video or camera....and did you see the stupid grins on their faces....its not like they did anything anyway, what the heck do they have to be so proud of?

I'm not against hunting for sustenance but as Diamondgirl said its not like THEY are eating the meat.

Shameful and cowardly display of immaturity.

Stay safe all.

It's Natural for the cheetah to hunt and catch prey, the same for most carnivourous animals, it's not violent.

I think big cat's like the cheetah and the jaguar are beautiful animals and it's great to see their power and agility.

It's no worse than using a hawk or kestrel to hunt and yes it is far better than letting such a creature sit in a cage at the zoo.

Infact zoo's or safari parks get annoyed they can't feed their predators live food, even when that food could be animals kept in a nearby cage.

TallG, it is not legal in the wild although I'm sure this one was owned by one of these clowns.  That said, it doesn't make it right

Completely pointless.  Not exactly fair game.  I'm sure the reason for the guys was to pass the time and entertain themselves.  I hardly think there was an oryx bar-b-q afterwards :(

I don't think that it is here ... but what a bad way to catch the poor thing ...

HAve to agree with you on that one. It lacks the distinct markings of stripes that the Oryx have. Actually despit what people might say about the cruelty of the pictures at least the are allowing the cheetah to do what comes naturally. Better than it sitting in some private zoo depressed and fat.
