Hi I'm looking to join or form a group who's interested in learning or practicing Combatives. Anyone? PM me.

Combative Quotes:

"What you learn in the afternoon must work for you that evening in the parking lot." - Kelly Mccann

"the difference between martial arts and combatives, is that martial art is something that you do with someone, in other words there is this reciprocal exchange of movement going on where he does this and I react by doing that, whereas combatives are something that you do to someone or on someone. In other words I am going to take this sack of potatoes and just beat on it!" - Kelly Mccann

Google Combatives, CQC, Defendu, RBSD for info or checkout these combative practioner videos on Youtube:

Kabayans former Aikidoka (Aikido practitioner) po ako with mixed Jeet Kune Do, Arnis and recently interested and got few Jiujitsu moves. I received an invitation recently in Education City to play Shotokan Aikido but just found out that they are more into Shotokan Karate and just using Aikido for the defense.I got bored though i'm also looking for MMA himself that i could share my Aikido skills but at the same time we could practice and play Jiujitsu because i found out that it a good combining it with Aikido. Striking like JKD, Karate, Taekwondo is good. But in real street fight, Aikido is effective with multiple attacker and finishing one opponent using Jiujitsu. Good thing about the present technology is that you can learn Juijitsu or other martials arts thru Youtube. You just need to see it and practice it. However Aikido is different story because you can't learn it by simply watching and practicing.

I heard also about Frank and i have his number in case i want to refresh my Arnis...but is he really an Aikidoka with black belts??

me too. i think i saw some ads on tfc about arnis lessons several months back but i forgot all about it.

took arnis for PE way back in college for only one semester but i forgot everything about it. the only thing i remember now is how nice the sound is when you feel your sticks slashing through the air. oh, and the calluses my hands got in the first few weeks of class din pala. if i remember correctly, the higher level techniques would include the ones using the balisong right?

what i would really be interested in studying, even on just a casual observer level, would be kali ala jason bourne.

btw, my aikido instructor (in another PE class) also said that sayonachi is the best self-defense.

tapos ang mahal pa QAR. 350/mo.! eh di na ako tuturuan ah di man lang nagbigay ng discount.

Lugi ako sa fee kasi 75mins. lang per session, 3x/week.

MAHARLIKA KUNTAW ang original name.fighting techniques from diff. martial arts was extracted to harness it for real combat fight which is basically applicable for pinoys either by air, standing and ground.

By anonymous• 22 May 2009 08:30

Hindi ko masyado alam ang Kuntaw, may nagsabi sa akin na parang pinaghalong TaeKwando at Muay Thai. Ang alam kong self defense na talagang eksperto ako ay "Kuntu" = Kung tumakbo mabilis! *\o/*

Most people think the FMA are stick fighting arts only. This is a common

misconception because the rattan sticks are one of the primary tools used

in training. They do use the sticks for combat, but that is not all there is to

the arts. The FMA are equally based in weapon skills and empty hand skills

(such as kicking, punching, trapping, and grappling). The FMA cover all

the fighting ranges, defending against armed and unarmed attacks with

whatever is available. What is available maybe the rattan sticks or it could

be other types of weapons or just the fighter's empty hand skills. The FMA

teach the interrelationship between empty hand skills and weapons.

Therefore the FMA should be considered a complete martial arts system

that develops many different types of skills for combat, not just simply a

stick fighting art.

Keep in mind that there are also other FMA that do not involve the use of

stick fighting as a training method. Dumog, Sikaran, and Panantukan are

examples of FMA that are based on empty hand skills only.

heheh an dami ko nang ntutunan sa inyo. pwed tayong mag met mga mahilig sa martial arts. hanap tau ng lugar kng saan pwed mag train and share our skills. yung tatlong arts ni rj_sniper007's aus un.heheh sayunachi sa corniche pwede na un.ahahha

By anonymous• 19 May 2009 07:59

since Sayonachi is a defensive type. Jukaku is an offensive type of martial art. in engaging your enemies you use JUdo. if it doesnt work, use KArate.. if it still doesnt work, P*****ina ipaKUlam mo na!!!.

if it still doesnt work, then use the full scale version: Jukakuba = JUdo, KArate, KUlam+BArang (Ewan ko na lang)

IF IT STILL DOESNT WORK...

Then use Sayonachi na lang ulet, heheheh...
