Hello all, again my apologies to everyone that called me to find out last min. about the trip being cancelled as they had not seen this thread. The only way i could inform everyone was through this thread.

The weather ruined the picnic but we'll do it again soon.

On that note if there is anyone that would like to join us on the trip we will arrange another get together perhaps this week if you'd like us to arrange the food and drinks for you drop in.

Think it will be better to open a new thread for that discussion.

Good morning everyone. Looks like we have a pretty decent list to move forward with.

This week I'll be collecting the money, I'll make a separate thread on that so that we can do a coffee meetup and the collection at the same time.

In the mean while a question to the confirmed guests;

1. Do any of you guys have a bbq set.

2. Emergency torch/lamps

3. Ice coolers (just for emergency)

Captain Lost mentioned before that he can arrange bout 3 big coolers, but just in case if you guys know anyone or perhaps have one with you please let me know. This goes for the bbq set and emergency lamps as well, if you have have a torch please carry it along as well might come in handy.

Now i've been getting a few pm's about transportation and I suppose the best way to solve this issue would be if people in need of transportation can taxi it out to the meeting point, which is Family Food Center in Rayyan and then from there we'll put you in the available cars.

Aright stay tuned for the announcement of our coffee meet up this week. If i think of anything else i'll post it here.

Smoke please ensure that anyone playing volleyball wears protective equipment, and can you please ensure that everyone has enough sun block on. Oh and better use plastic knives and forks as well, we don't want anyone harming themselves with metal ones.

Smoke, I was talking about the picnic area QP has made between the sailing club and the desal plant. For barbeque that's a good place if you occupy one or two of the huts. There the beach is a bit rocky..not like fuwairit or mesaieed sealine sands. If one falls down while playing, he could get hurt.

Thanks DK, the beach is like any other beach last time i was there and volleyball can be played as well as football dont know which beach u have been to as there are 2 or 3 other beaches there.

Smoke, Dukhan beach is not a soft sandy beach so playing volley ball etc. will not be much fun. You all got to go there early to occupy at least 2 adjacant huts as some 20+ guys would be there. Take some musical instrument like an accoustic guitar with a small bongo...that will be quite enjoyable. You all can sit on the grass near the hut and have a musical session.

Normally people are screaming out for an open meet. Smoke puts one on, and all I can see is people winging and wanting assurances. This is the first time I have ever seen people wanting guarantees of a good time in advance. If I was organising this I would have just thrown my hands up in the air by now and told them to go and find their own fun.

Smoke is doing all of the work, all these people have to do is turn up and eat/talk/swim/play. If I wasn't busy I would be there. Life is what you make it, if these people are this stiff online, I can't see them having a good time at a gathering anyway. So stay at home and have another lonely Friday why don't you.

Just confirm you are attendance if you want to have fun and have good time. Why so much unneccassary talk??

nihilist, there are a few beaches in Dukhan, but the one we are going to is next to the QP accommodation...i dont know if you have been there but there's like a sitting arrangement with benches and tables and its covered.

As TB has mentioned there's a small shopping complex 2 mins away that has Mc D's/Dominos etc and they have changing washrooms available there.

the_nihilist changing facilities are a 2 min drive away in a tiny food mall. Not on the beach it's self.

Smoke sorry for that :-), I just had aquery, had been to Dukhan last week and I could not find a public washroom as such, and the beach area is tiny, some construction work going on there. Just wanted to make sure if I was at the wrong place or if it's been a while since you had been there.

The beach we are going to is not like a remote secluded beach..ladies you will be happy to know there's changing rooms and toilets available close by...and no they are not dirty public toilets they are clean ones in Fast food joints just 2 mins drive away.

Just thought i'd mention that as many people are afraid what they would do if they had a sudden nature call LOL!
