I'm still waiting for your suggestions on what to name our group. I was thinking of "QL Filipino Barkadahan" but the rules said that the group name and description has to be in English. But we could freely speak in our language within the forum/group.

Most of the Filipinos here in Doha live with their families who are also employed by other companies located in different parts of Qatar. Some are married or engaged to Westerners and other nationalities so they are likely to be around Westerners' circle.

Unlike the ChinaTown (we also have one or two in Manila, Philippines) where Chinese live, work and do business in that area and they don't go out of the community because all they need is right there with them.

Owen's suggestion really sounds okay. Come to think of it, before Qatari closed the first thread, he mentioned about a Filipino group in QL.How about that?

Help me think of a name we should call our group and we could submit it and be recognized as a QL legit group. A blog could be created to post/record all activities done by the group.

So here's the assignment guys/gals....

1. Suggest/recommend an official name for this group;

2. There has to be someone amongst us who is a computer/internet-savy that can do the design for the blog. The blog would serve as our activity diary.

3. We could set a bi-monthly get-together for all or once a week rendezvous (coffee and chit-chat for the not-so busy people like me).

ANo po ang recommedation and reactions nyo? Set natin ang deadline sa Huwebes 6pm so we could submit it to Qatari and make everything official.

Sorry, had to do the "kitakits" thing.

Anyway, wala namang problema if your purpose of coming to Qatar ay para umattend ng business training. So, no worries...as a double preventive measures, yung leaflet/invitation or other documentations for that seminar ay easy to pull out from your handcarry bags just in case tanungin ka nila.

Relax jayre, I'm sure that someone from the organizers ng seminar will meet you at the airport. Makipag-coordinate ka kung sino ang susundo sa yo at kung saan ka mag-stay.

Ay, before I forget, it would be wiser if you bring some dollars with you then convert it to Qatari riyals pag dating mo dito. Even though provided ka, mas secure ka kung may pera kang mabubunot. Kahit pambili ng kape habang naghihintay ka ng sundo mo.
