A. R Rehman show

The show "Rahamaniac" which was held in Sharjah cricket stadium was a huge hit!  The organizers wanted to bring A. R Rahman to Doha and consulted a few events management companies here.

These companies told the organizers that such an event wouldn't draw much crowd in Doha...

What do you guys think about this?  If this is the attitude of the events people are any shows gonna come to doha.  Of course no organizers wanna take risk especially when it comes to big stars like A.R., it is goona cost them a Fortune if the show doesn't bring a crowd.

So, now you know y you never see Doha in any of the venue where international stars  conduct shows?  These lazy guys needs to wake up and do some actual work!!!!

The things that I wrote above a exactly what has happened and the feedback from the people here when the organisers were here.   Well, these statements are from very reliable sources, a very important person among the  organizer who did the show in Dubai, I am not going to put in any names ..  which I think is inappropriate..  Notoknow.. I am sure this guy has lot of knowledge about how to conduct a show all the related stuff involved ..  but based in dubai..

I think A.R Rahman concert was attended by 30,000 people in Dubai.. You cant expect a crowd anywhere near that figure in Qatar. right?

Ray/ Sarat are you guys planning to bring Adnan Sami? Is he doing shows these days?

Rayyz ... Actually the point I implies is.... A show like that of A.R Rahman would definetly be a full crowd isn't ?.. not only Indians but others nationalities would have have turned up .. This was sure miss for Doha...

By nottoknow• 24 Apr 2008 13:57

Firstly where did you get your info from ....let me correct you nothing of the sort happened

Secondly - People need to support such event as well as sponsors........You are really not expecting event companies to run losses for people to enjoy .

Thirdly i doubt you have a faintest idea how much logistical support is required to do concert of artist like AR rahman

Just ask yourself and couple of people around you how much would you all pay to go for such a show ,you may get your answer right

By Khanan• 24 Apr 2008 13:55

All excpet no.2

this is the field which requires alot of improvement and support...

Rightly said rayyz na ksarat....Great work Rayyz and Ksarat...

i wish A.R Rahman and Jagjit could be here instead of UAE...

Hmm....wrong thing to say,, which events of the above did ya go to..?

Indeed to continue on what Rayyz has mentioned...

Rightly said, if people dont support these kinda events in the starting ages of Doha coming up, how do you expect organizers to bring more entertainment to the shows...

I totally understand that cost of living in Doha is particularly high, but dont tell me people in Doha cant shell out a few Hundred bucks once or twice a maximum thrice in an year and watch these programmes LIVE IN DOHA...

If in India, its rare that people go to the shows...I mean people who have been used to life outside India but atleast here in Doha, you dont go to the programmes, and you start complaining that Doha is freaking Boring...

Man I tell ya, this place needs a change a big Entertainment Awareness Drive to show people whats missing in their lives...

This place till the realization happens, will am sorry to say ma friend SUCK BIG TIME...

Let me ask you a question. Which of these last five events have you and your friends attended?

1. Sonu Nigam at Khalifa Tennis Complex

2. Golmaal Pyaar Ka comedy play starring Rajpal Yadav & Manoj Joshi at Gulf Cine

3. Shaan Se - Live in Qatar at Khalifa Tennis Complex

4. Alka Yagnik & Kumar Sanu at Doha Cinema

5. DJ Aqeel - Live in Qatar at Qube

If people in Qatar aren't too willing to see the stars/artistes, then its pointless for organizers to risk getting big stars and have shows with empty stands. :)
