Recent Facebook Scam

Recently there has been a lot of news about the "Who has viewed your Facebook Profile?" app / link...

ITS A SCAM!

This scam promises to let you know that information, it shows up as an advertisement or a message on your wall from a friend ( It may or may not be from a friend ) and promises to do just that- Give you all Info about who's viewed your profile and lots more!

But, If you try to use it you could be giving scammers access to your Facebook account and everything in it! Including your list of friends who they can then try to scam as well pretending to be you. It also generates a Java script and autosends it to all your friends in your list.

According to Simon Axten a Facebook spokesman “Facebook does not offer a way for members to see who has viewed their profile, nor do we allow applications to provide this information,”.

Also don’t think that you can find out who has rejected your friend request this is just another version of this same scam. If you see any requests like this or a page that promotes an application with this function contact Facebook at www.facebook.com/help. The company has posted a security alert promising to remove the links from its site to protect people from this scam.

So protect yourself and pass this warning along to your friends and family, and help make the internet a little safer today. Do not click on unscrupulos links, and think twice before adding applications which are not endorsed by Facebook.
