OK, time for my six monthly post LOL

Some of you may have seen www.expatcooks.com (in a previous post of mine six months ago probably)

I need some Festive season recipes! either for Christmas, New Year celebrations. But I would also really like some traditional Arabic recipes for celebrations such as Eid - plus some in readiness for Ramadan and Eid next year.

I am changing the site every day and while it started off as an 'Expat' site, I realised that not just expats are interested in cooking. If you don't want to 'join' the site, you can email me recipes from the contact page on the site and I will put them up on the site with a credit to you

Off to bake biscuits/cookies now :)

Arggghhh! cannot find Robinsons (or any other brand) of mincemeat for mince pies. My mother in law is bringing some in from Bahrain on the 8th of Dec. But really need some for some pies so that I can take piccies for the site.

however, I have a recipe on the site at the moment for those of you who a. can't find mincemeat or b. don't have someone to bring some in for you.

Does anyone know where to find fruit Mincemeat (NOT minced meat lol)

thanks x

Thanks :)

well I have posted a couple of recipes, biscuits/cookies with a bright coloured centre and also a Chocolate, almond and fig Christmas tree. There are pictures as well. For once my baking actually looked like it should. I emailed the pics of the xmas tree to my husband when he was at work and he said 'for a minute I thought, that can't be your work, then recognised the decorations on the table'.......

cheeky so and so!!

Truffles tomorrow and hopefully mincepies the day after that if I can find some Mincemeat (the fruit variety)

Thanks so much to all who have joined so far. Looking forward to your recipes!!!

:) That is great, I've already activated a few recipes that one of our new members submitted last night. I'll be attempting the Nasi Goreng later on for my husband (I'm not a fan but he loves it)

Sherwett, Egyptian recipes would be fantastic thankyou.

I'm off out in an hour or so to buy ingredients for today's cooking attempt, I'm spending today making a chocolate, nut and date Christmas tree...stand by for photos of it falling over.

When my daughter gets back from Uni in England in a couple of weeks, we are making our yearly attempt at a Gingerbread House....So far over the years we haven't been able to make it stand up for longer than 8 minutes. We are going for a new record this year!

Hi Amanda, I'd love to join. I love to cook and always find myself run out of ideas. What about getting together one day (later next year) for a picnic with our "signature" foods to chat, eat and share recipes? I am going to request the membership now:-)) Thank you and see you xxxxxx

It has been ages (years?) since I saw you. How is that gorgeous boy of yours? Still doing well at TK?

Anyone can view/print recipes. The only reason I have a membership/sign in is to prevent auto joiner programs etc from posting dodgy things i.e viagra/medical links, you know the kind of thing!.

The only real reason to join is to submit recipes but if you really don't want to join, you can always email me the recipes and I will give a full credit to you.

We also have a facebook group as well :) which I started up today
