Ahh see now this is more like it. A fun convo... and about CATS!!
BTW, to Laudgi7, Well lets just say all cats arent all that brave [; Lol.
I remember my friend used to have this realllllllly huge furry cat, which weighed like a ton! Although a treat to hold, still i don't like those! Kittens!
yeah i have found that cats are absolutely terrified of people in this country ... i have a tried a rapport with some cats near with no success watsover .. could anyone explain this to me
this is despite the fact they are left to roam ... something has to be done some large compounds honsetly must have more cats than people
Cool, as long as no dogs around :-D Oh my Goddd, yesterday one barked at me reallly bad..
Imagine it at 11 P.M I was walking somewhere out side doha ( you know, 3izbah) and I wanted to walk out side the property and there was this dog from another house who kept parking reallly loud and shaking the bars of the gate...It seems like he was literally pulling the gate out, what he already did is pulling my heart out loool...I'm no thief!
Well, I walk from one end of City Centre to the other end in all three floors. I do walk in the corniech somtimes. Also, I do walk around my home's garden yard ...
Lol I can't count! it's not sad! I'm happy being like GIASI's father :-) Who said once : "there are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who cant" :-D !!
About my sister, well she is not someone new lol that's why I didn't count her...I should've mentioned her lol bad bad old sister!
That food is called Koshari :-) an Egyptian dish.
Really I t was very nice to meet you QatarCat..Lucky me ;-)
:-) I really enjoyed our walk, and the food, too! Only I forgot what it's called. I am SO going back for more! Hopefully next time round some more girls will be able to make it.
Aisha is really nice, but sadly, she can't count. We were three... her cutie little sister was with us :p
Hi there :-) About the “surprise welll, I wanted to arrange some walking meeting to some of QatarLiving girls and I was going to post a report about the trip with some pictures..
However, the girls including the photographer (my cousin) couldn’t make it hehehe…But wallah It was soooooo much fun!! We were two, QatarCat and I ..We really enjoyed it..We walked for about an hour and a half in the evening after the prayer of Maghrib (the sunset time) ..
It’s that large park near the landmark..The park is for families. Very cozy and enjoyable. The weather was nice, so was QatarCat :-)
Lol, Yes it was kinda philosophical and I was like @@ Maaan, he is so taking it seriously:-D
I liked the idea of walking on the roof! That’s soooo coooooool ! I wanna walk on the roof of your bulding too hehe. Coz ours has so many wires and the dishes and lots of dust and moving things ewww….I wanted to plant some flowers but mom was like: You take care of the land first and THEN think about the bald roof! hehe
Wishing all the best in their exams..including moi :-(
Oh man, I was just tryin to put in a lil humour thru my last post, but instead it turned all philosophical O.o
Ahh well...
Anyways, i like walking on the roof of my building, you can see pretty much all of the downtown area, and the best time is prolly the sunrise i think... or maybe 2am in the morning. Either one of those. When the weather was changing a couple of months back, you could actually see like lots of different colors in the sky. Like i'd go up at dawn, and i'd look around the sky, it'd be purple in some place, red somewhere, somewhere a lil darkish blue, n some place lil light blue, n some orange rays too. Just effin' amazin man.
PS. Also i'd like to wish good luck to all the youngins on their exams, as may sucks for all of them cuz most of them are getting thru that! GL!
Angelooo,I ment it in a positive way :-D Like "I can't agree more"
About the translation...well the door is open for any Arab member here to translate it :-) I don't think I'm capable of that :-( It's kinda difficult..
Angelo, You killed me with that! I just LOVE Al Gariah..My father was born and raised up there :-D One of the old ruined houses there had seen BETTER days.. where my father lived ;-)
QU is one of them ;-) wallah it's nice when you go there early and walk outside the buildings from The old building to the science building and then to the foundation program building. When it's hot I walk inside the science building around the hall downstairs. Pretty big hall
The other places I walk in are the neighborhood I live in and some parks here and there(Names have been veiled for security purposes lol )..Unfortunately I rarely walk in the Chornich.
Lilipink,Yessss I like walking at that time..Sorry I couldn’t help it but I had to put this stanza of an Arabic poem about the nightfull…Oh my God I love it
"o 'n about the moon and the stars have any of u been in the desert 'n actually looked to the sky at night 'n saw the millions of stars?"
I used to go over the weekend ie; thursday night and return friday early morning to a place called Al Gariyah - up north, it is a long drive, but worth it. It is bright till about 1830hrs and loved to just walk along the sea shore and listen to the waves, have a quite BBQ, and lie down and watch the sky, --beautiful.
Don't do it any more since there is a resort there now and it is getting crowded.
...i love to watch everyone going around there business....kids playing or riding their bikes, moms with their toddlers.I also enjoy the nature.........lili.
Yes I’ve been in the desert at night ..soo stunning..
It’s like a pearls necklace that have been broken up and the pearls kept spreading around so freely..
By the way, when the weather was good some people used to walk in the desert or beside the sea..Good places to walk for those who like privacy and quietness..
heh ya everybody falls in the hole at least once they say ;) but it gets funny when u see them fallin in the same hole alot :p,
o 'n about the moon and the stars have any of u been in the desert 'n actually looked to the sky at night 'n saw the millions of stars? i think when we're in the city because of all the lights we don't see all the stars, we just see the bright ones... but when ur in a really dark place u can actually see thousands of them ;) try it! :D
Unlike you, I measure my walking by time not by the distance I’ve covered..So I walk in several directions. Gosh I just can’t keep walking without turning right and left and getting into endless circles! it must be reflecting what’s going on inside my head lol..Still all organized ;-)
Khalifa Sports City is the best place ever. You can actually see the distance you've covered, you can do stretch exercises. It's not far from where I live :^)
lol qatari! I did saw people walking there though! With the sports shoes and every thing! :-)
ThomasSoerensen, Thaaaaank you so much for the details..You run! I see people running around and always wonder how could they! That's a lot of effort!
*touching wood*
Do you see the same walkers over and over? It happens to me and it's cool! I know nothing about them but I'm used to them being around and when some get absent for a while I do miss them! It's crazy but fun! The best part of it is that they don’t know about it hehe
I run in the mornings outside my compound on Al Waab Street. It is partially closed now for Asian games rework. I sometimes run down to Khalifa Sport City and run on the path they have made there. Very good venue. I see lots of walkers there every time I go.
I was kidding about City Centre! Hehe...just making the point that it is the place where everyone seems to go and roam...maybe that will change when that new mall opens
The Corniche of course, but also when it's too hot, Landmark is a good spot especially because the "track" there is wider than city center, no escalators so u can leave kids to run around more freely & not so many people blocking ur path by walking slowly wanting to see & be seen :)

And I haven't been walking since then.
Yaaaay! You went to our park!
Next time tell me I'd love to join you :-) If ok :-D
Last time I walked in a "Kosheri" Park! :p
Lol Equin0x :-D
Now guys let's go back to our main subject :-P
So tell us where you walk!
Kittens!
QatarCat yes cats care too much about food. once they are hungry the just can't distinguish their special ones lool
Uh huh, I started feeding this cat outside, and now she's terrorising me! She howls like mad if I don't feed her!
Laudgi7,i don't know maybe because they are streets cats they behave like that..You know..
And because they are so many!So we can't , as individuals, take care of all of them..
yeah i have found that cats are absolutely terrified of people in this country ... i have a tried a rapport with some cats near with no success watsover .. could anyone explain this to me
this is despite the fact they are left to roam ... something has to be done some large compounds honsetly must have more cats than people
Yes yesss! Aren't they the cutiest thing ever?

I walk in the compound I live in before sundown,
...i love to watch everyone going around there business....kids playing or riding their bikes, moms with their toddlers.I also enjoy the nature.........lili.
Hey, Aisha, you talk, talk and talk about people's places for walking, and you didn't talk about yourself. So, where do you walk, Aisha?
Yes I’ve been in the desert at night ..soo stunning..
It’s like a pearls necklace that have been broken up and the pearls kept spreading around so freely..

Unfortunately I didn't see you Equin0x heheh, I like watching people falling down only to see how will they stand up again.. ;-) inspiring..
There is this Egybtian idiom "Ma yo ash illa esh shater" .It indicates that intelligent people challenge themselves by learning from their mistakes.
Here is the translation but with an English flavor :
“ Those who fall are those who win
I hop we'll all fall to stand up once again ;-)
I was walkin on that road by the palm trees and i fell... Ouch!
PS. double posts!1! spam spam spam. Where are all the mods at?
Lol, you'll be the third QatarLiving girl who I spend time with when Husbands are away...I feel like husbands must hate me for that hehe
Sure! Let's arrange something...And I'll get some QatarLiving girls too..Yaaay I'm already excited
Just contact me plz..
Aisha you're most welcome :^)
Maybe we could walk together sometime. My husband is far too busy to walk with me.
Khalifa Soprts City sounds cool!
Thank you Qatarcat :-)
Unlike you, I measure my walking by time not by the distance I’ve covered..So I walk in several directions. Gosh I just can’t keep walking without turning right and left and getting into endless circles! it must be reflecting what’s going on inside my head lol..Still all organized ;-)

You walk in Landmark! I've never thought it's possible I dunno why :-D
"people blocking ur path by walking slowly wanting to see & be seen"
Looool! Yes I know this kind of people, very "cute" !
Hey Aisha, so nice to see ur posts.
The Corniche of course, but also when it's too hot, Landmark is a good spot especially because the "track" there is wider than city center, no escalators so u can leave kids to run around more freely & not so many people blocking ur path by walking slowly wanting to see & be seen :)
Keep moving!
Thanks la Jolla for joining in...
Our list of walkers is getting bigger and bigger :-D
Corniche to other places is like moon to stars. When moon is there no one show any interest in the lovely little stars ;-) Sooo, When There is some kinda traffic issues, the moon disappears and the stars appear brighter than ever ;-)

I walk in Corniche 5KM per day and even in July and Aug. It makes me feel good and fresher. The main reasons I walk in Corniche: It's nice there with beautiful view, Plus no nasty male try to approach me, but if I go to other places... It happens very very often just because I am asian.
VERY INTERESTING !
Thank you guys!
Qatari, Yes I noticed that some are SERIOUSLY walking inside the city center mall! Nice idea especially when it's too hot and you feel like walking! Better that never.
So you walk at the last floor up, where nothing really is there?
DeadBeat,Yes there are some newly built parks around Qatar. Nice cozy places especially for families picnics. I walk in somewhere similar too..
I used to walk in Corniche. Thats the better place I find to walk.
These days I go to the newly built park in Rayyan on Jaidah roundabout
from one end of City Centre to the other! (and then back again)
