To Speed Read or Not...
By Happy Happy •
I understand our reading speed with full comprehension varies from one person to another, dependent on a variety of factors such as the page size, the nature of the material being read, the reader's alertness and more...
How many pages you normally read per hour?
No one reads no more?!

For non-fiction/technical books, I can never bring myself up to more than 25-30 p/phr, tops.
Paperback novels, 85-90 pages per hour. Rest depends on the size of the page and how interested I am.
Last weekend I finished two novels of 865 & 758 pages.
i cannot comprehend what i read without music or tv on.. so i skip reading to glance on tv or singing.. that means i lost all my time on singing and watching tv. maybe 20-30 pages per hour.. hahahaha
Happy, I think it depends upon the purpose of reading. If one is reading for knowledge, he will read slowly understanding every word. If reading to pass time or entertainment, one can read very fast just to get the picture as to what it is about not caring to understand.
but..for reading more than anything else concentration is required... if its..my subject i badly miss concentration.. for others i could manage..reading...
Happy Happy, i presume that's reading with full comprehension? :)
Visper, I read somewhere that the average reading speed is from 150-300 word/per minute.
That means a person could read 60 pages an hour?!
awww.. hahaha.. I miss Reader's Digest :(

A novel's page size is usually smaller or less dense, maybe less than 250 words per page, right?
About 2 on QL
Happy Happy, they're usually 200-300 + pages, that is when i really really like the plot and it gets interesting that i'm having a hard time putting it down.. :)
