They are Engineers even if not have Education

I saw almost all the arabs working in ME are Engineers by profession in their ID, others like Indians, Pakistanis, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Bengladesi and Philipinos as just workers even if they are engineers and have better education and knowledge.

This is what I saw here in middle east, your view might be different! Share it.

What mentality is this? Lack of professionalism!

DMS, the OP stated that the titles on their Qatar ID's state they are a profession they are not. I do think that ties into the designation on the visa n'est pas?

unless they are really professional (meaning they pass the government-recognized board exam) engineer (say civil or mechanical etc etc) then they are entitled to "engineer title".

but those already at work. MAny are using professional titles that is not supposed to be entitled. Engineering graduates are not automatically be entitled to be engineer. They need to pass certain goverment-approved or recognized exam to be called engineers (or whatever profession they took)

what the heck is sales engineer. all engineering in the philippines will at least you can take it 5 plus years. After that you don't call yourself an engineer without passing the board exam.

lack of professionalism!! who are you accusing here? qatar? the only one who can deliver the visas is the minister of interior and they check all document and their authenticity, now if you doubt on their competence. it's your responsibility!

It may be due to the fact that some visas are easier for some nationalities, or that these are the visas made available to the company so they use them up put of neccessity. It has no bearing on ability or education.

it doesn't necessary mean the person is an engineer. One need to pass the board exam to be one. Of course in other countries, merely graduating suffice to use the title! That's where frustration comes in.

Is that also true to other professions? Like doctors of medicine? Architects? etc. etc.?

Most Born as engineers, no choice. Once he corrected me when I called him Yasser …no no my name is Engineer Yasser (whatever). .. LOL

Moving on is simple; it's what you leave behind that makes it so difficult .

Ahh in some cases its true, have seen a lot of "foreman" or "supervisors" suddenly becoming "Mohandis" overnight.
