There is no window that you can open and get some fresh air. central vantilation controlled by switches inside the room.
I have done a measurement by a device to see number of oxygen in the room. AS I was not being able to breath well and wake up tired everyday. Check was ok. No oxygen problem.

BUT STILL I CANT BREAAAATTTTHHH !!

britexpat.. you comment is brilliant :))

Another thing regarding Ezdan: When you have simple problems with bathroom or tap, you call reception and they say : " ok sir we are sending the engineer to check"

look at the luxary.. They are sending engineer for a simple maintenance.. They dont send Project Manager though :) It has happen to me and to a friend of mine whose living in Ezdan..

The enginneer.. Dont even ask about his reparing ...

There's no satisfying some people. Not only are they giving accomodation, but offering you a chance to exercise and lose weight.. Without extra costs..

Believe me or not, the first room they proposed me was so:

sitting room and kitchen is in a flat and the bedroom is in another flat that you need to go out from your main gate and open another main gate to reach your bedroom.

I did not see any hidden camera. It was Like a jog.

There was a rumor going around two years ago that tower 1 was going to be demolished because they had so many problems with it during the games. Obviously changed their minds though.

Unfortunatly the general standard of building in Qatar seems to be crap.

Will it ever improve???

stayed at a hotel in London once and asked for help to unlock the window to enjoy a bit of fresh air.

The "window opener" arrived with a key and a disclaimer that I had to sign stating that I would not hold the hotel liabile in the event that i accidently or purposely fell out the window.

You may wish to consider this system to acquire a bit of fresh air....

Tenants of Ezdan -: you people all ok? The amount of complaints and comments on QL is rather worrying...... we know that construction stamdards are generally poor but Ezdan seems to get top marks....

There is also another option..

I visited a friend there last week. Cars "hurtled" up and down the parking ramps with tyres squeeling.. Perhaps you could just step out onto one of these ramps..

I recommend you that you buy an Air filter/purifier, I got the full size made by LG and it works fine. Make sure that all your air filters from your Air condition are clean thoroughly.

If you are living with Central Air condition, there should be thermostat to regulate the temperature inside your apartment, If not, you could always purchase a activated Carbon liner to be place in front of the Air exhaust panel.

Most of the time in any new housing complexes residual dust is build and mildew inside the ducts and walls after the construction is finish. You have to air out the house and clean it thoroughly.

Good luck.

You could spray-wash and wipe down with a sponge all the walls with a simple solution of clorox and water, that will kill the mildew permanently. Unless there is water leakage sipping through the cement.

Is really bad the noise at night

but depending the rooms, in my one I could open a window, it as a suite.

If your used to live in country, this kind of building is not the best for you.

We feel like chicken inside, but the personal is very kind.

Ok all, if interested, I just spent the last 2 months at Ezdan... clearly I settled because I didn't realize what was out there. Was waiting for my flat to be finished until moving in and Ezdan couldn't accomodate me for another 4 damn days so I had to move.... moved into Le Grand Hotel (just off of Al Sadd Road) and I have to tell you - these hotel apartments are about 3million % better than Ezdan in every way. And, the short and long term rental rates are apparently better than Ezdan. Only catch is that there isnt a microwave and they aren't as fully stocked with plates/cutlery/pans, etc. as Ezdan but if you make a fuss, they react. Rooms are brilliant and big and big windows that actually open for air.

I REALLY wish I would have known that before heading into Ezdan (plus, its across from my office so wow... that would have helped!).

There's my two cents.

no way. they knew people could no resist to Ezdan and commit suicide. So they built without window..

I checked elevator as another option. but I could not open the gate :)

Giving the option to open windows in a tower block may increase oxygen, but may also lead to a few jumping out..

By smilingmoon• 16 Oct 2008 15:50

yes may be.. but they could fix safe windows though,,

By deedee• 16 Oct 2008 08:13

due to safety precautions (it is a high rise) they purposefully make the windows unable to open.

Could not believe the first time I walked into Ezdan towers. Now I know why the Bavaria group pulled out.

For a relatively new residence it looks like it has been sitting to rot for 20 plus years on the interior.

Walls and ceilings just filthy and the quality of the finishing work. Paint slopped all over wood trim, poor grouting, etc. Yes the developers must have hired day laborers from the industrial area and trained them for 1 hour beofre putiing them to worl. What a disgrace. And people actually pau real money to live there. This residence truly not worth paying anyting for. Would be better to live in a tent out past Wakhra. Oh I forgot to mention the wonderful fake veneer PLASTIC doors used

for every apartment entrance! That says it all right there. At least Doha has a developmental standard NOT to emulate. Junk top to bottom. Live and learn

By Mandilulur• 15 Oct 2008 22:22

Yes, it's hard to get the room air oxygen level below 21%. But perhaps your breathing problems are due to mold or mildew in the apartment or some other allergen. Hope you feel better.
