Three Cups of Tea has animals in it! I'm sure there were some donkeys somewhere in there :-)

Seriously, I've never felt like pushing a book as much as this one.

From the back cover:

"In 1993 a mountaineer named Greg Mortenson drifted into an impoverished Pakistan village in the Karakoram mountains after a failed attempt to climb K2. Moved by the inhabitants' kindness, he promised to return and build a school. Three Cups of Tea is the story of that promise and its extraordinary outcome. Over the next decade Mortenson built not just one but fifty-five schools -- especially for girls-- in the forbidding terrain that gave birth to the Taliban. His story is at once a riveting adventure and a testament to the power of the humanitarian spirit".

Everyone on the planet should read this book.

Afaque, if you like pet books, you would like Marley and Me.

Aaargh, I really need to get to the gym, but can't pass up a thread about BOOKS!

Brandylady, I read a lot, but your favorite genres aren't my faves. I belong to 2 book clubs, can send you a list of titles from this past year and the upcoming year if you want.

I like realistic fiction and memoirs and lots of other stuff, too.

Paulo Coelho is my HERO!!!!

And for everyone who reads:

If you haven't yet read "Three Cups of Tea", the story of Greg Mortenson..... check it out online.... and order it TODAY. Amazing story.

Ok, I'm going to the gym now. Really! I am!

Have a great day, all.

I read a lot of books, and have a lot of favourite authors.

When I start the book and it's rubbish, I still have to finish it, just from respect to the author, who put a lot of effort to write the thing.

My favourite authors? Hmmm....There are too many to list.

Anybody heard about Abbey Lee? ;)

Kismet

p.s. she IS NOT my favourite author, but I read that book :)

I liked the book, but agree the film was bad.. The same was true for Tai Pan.

Books allow you to visualize and give life to the characters. then when you see the film, they may not be as you pictured them.

How's it goin there. So glad to be able to chit chat with you once again.

Well, I appreciate non-fiction self improvement literature.

Let's start with--I like Dianna Booher with her series of books. Particularly "Communicate With Confidence" and "Speak with Confidence."

Not that I dont know how to communicate but this book has exceptional guidelines that is important for anybody who commands a big big, big big territory. Yup yup, Miss lady brandy.

I still aspire to be a good motivational and moving communicator with the ability to mold, influence, as well as make my subordinates feel good about their performances or jobs. As we all know, effective communication is of paramount importance in any complex organizatioon.

Sorry, been drinking. I know its too long. Budlight is hmm hmm good, yum yum. hik hik. Take me drunk, Im home.
