What is up with most of the Gynecologists?

PITSTOP
By PITSTOP

I've recently experienced the worst with Gynecologists in Qatar.

Why are most of them careless, materialistic and money seekers?

Your opinions please ..

I think there should be a directory for the list of Doctors and Consultants in Qatar - for all.

I can recommend Dr. hassan's medical center. If they can't help they'll search for someone to help you.

I gave birth 3 weeks back... I went to Al Alhi first for my appointments... and hated the place the Gyno had no time for questons nothing... so I tryed 3 others in different hospitals and found the same poor service... eventually I headed out of town and went to Al Khor and WOW! my Gyno was great, and she even followed up with a call to my cell 2 days after I was sent home, she was from Lebanon and older than most Gyno's I had previously seen... the Hospital is quiet and they have time for questions, and actually listen to you!

If you have the patience to drive out of town, then I really do recommend it.

I know a few gynacologists in Doha, you wouldn't want to hear their side of the story and how they complain about heavy workload and constant pressure of being on the call 24/7. I guess that's reflected in the performance of most of them.

My friend finally settled with a good doctor in a private clinic (cannot recall the name), her little angel is now 2 months old, safe and sound.

another, I think you are simply complicating your own case....sometimes it's takes a while for any good doctor to diagnose the case properly.

In your case what I understand that you keep moving from one dr. to another since you don't get comfortable results initially.

I hope you end up in good hands soon:-) Inshah'Allah

Alexa and qatarisun,,, I'm not too fond of Al Emadi. They are TOO expensive. I am not saying that because I can't afford it, or I'm stingy. Its just over priced.

and Alexa, You might be lucky with Al-Emadi.

i have had so bad experience with them, and especially with their gyno (forgot her name, some lebanese).. this one was exactly as same as Pitstop described: careless and money seeker...and she put me in the most embarrassing situation i've even been in my life due to her carelessness and 'money seeking'...

The overworked vets have striked and were recently deported. So gynos are now having to treat female camel patients too. That explains their ill-humor these days.

And to top that camels don't pay up!

qatarisun, so true, but its the sad truth. I wouldn't work if I couldn't give 120% of what I have. Especially if I'm a doctor!!

I feel for all the pregnant women who need good reliable doctors :( ..

Sorry if I posted it in the wrong forum.

MagicDragon, its so sad, walla.

stevethetyke, it might be a girls matter, so I can't elaborate if you don't already get it, but thanks for trying :) :)

verisimilitude, should I list the ones that I went to LOL .. I'm sure they would be most out there.

I am not a troll, I said "I recently experienced". Does that answer your question?

Xray, Rizfi I would never go to. Al Ahli - never ... inshallah I am not forced to go there one day. But Rizfi, bad bad Gyno. From my sisters experience.

Alexa, maybe, but what's up with fully booked, and no appointments - and over charging for a diagnosis which never makes sense.?? They don't ever listen to you and they shut you up when you try to explain YOUR situation. To me, each case is totally different.

otep, I said MOST .. Sorry you missed that ..

And I traveled all the way to Bahrain for a proper check and the 7 that I went to here, EACH gave me a different diagnosis, and at the end ALL OF THEM were totally off!!

Its scary, I'm not even pregnant and this is going on. Does that mean that every time I'm going to have to fly to Bahrain?

They are exactly as same as most of expats here: “come to Qatar, grab fast money without putting much of your heart and soul into the matter, and leave”...Especially since you never know when you might (or be forced to) leave. Isn’t that what most of us claim, even here on QL? Every thread “why are you in Qatar” gives more or less the same answer: for saving as much MONEY as possible with minimum efforts at work... So why doctors shouldn’t be as “materialistic and careless at the same time” as others?

And it’s not only gyno... how about dentists, other specialists?
