What You've Done, Other than Blabbing?

Is it true that the one who is lavish with words is cheap in deeds ?

When was the last time you remember you or someone you know, has actually done or made a contribution to their own, family, group, creed....in Qatar or outside?

Don't be a bragger..:)) Yet if you have no recollection of any tiny good deed you've done rather than said lately, that would make you a...?

Share your good experiences, if any..:P

....smoke, health care in many countries doesn't exist. I'm expecting every other family to have one or two sick members.

No, I don't think it's typical of a certain nationality. If they cried- wolf, soon their cover would be blown by their colleagues.

....britexpat and UkEngQatar, I'm liking what I'm hearing. You'd notice almost all respondents here, despite differences, yet demonstrated that morals are morals regardless where you are from.

Yes like BritExpat have helped a lot of needy around certain locations in Doha.. Can't disclose the location as it will be bragging then!

like they say, do a good deed and throw it in the river so no one knows about it..:)

..... greentea, positive and constructive as always..:)

.....lemontree, smiling at someone, in many situations, IS a good deed indeed, especially if you're not in the mood, yet still trying.

Many, including myself do not feel it right to espouse our good deeds on public forums. We do it for ourselves and our maker, not to glorify ourselves

....Psycho, she didn't have a scratch. She was standing strong, but crying hysterically i the heat. The lady driver just calmed her down and gave her some water. She also entertained the other 2 little boys, who were also traumatized.

lavish with words and cheap in deeds....not always true...as one cant hide the true impressions in long run...whatever is inside comes outside...its the matter of time of judgment or time bound drama on stage...

one of the simplest ingredients to make other and oneself happy is to smile and smile with warmth

in "everyday" life smile is the best contribution..it really really works.....smile is more infectious than yawning or small pox...normally no one can shyaway to reciprocate a smile...try it it will make ur day...everyday

Happy, that would not be a lesson for me. That man would have infuriated me.

There are lessons to be learned, millions of them. Maybe God will help me to open my eyes again, without getting frustrated and angry ,cursing the indifference, carelessness and plain stupidity that is prevalent.

I pray for it, one day.

@happy but handling any accident victim without proper training in nursing is a crime as it can lead to death. one must not touch a person involved in an accident.

....nomerci, but we learn when we see others doing good things, don't we?

...I saw a woman driver stopping her car to take a woman and her 2 little kids in, until the ambulance arrived, after an accident. The woman's husband was busy fighting with the other car driver, leaving his wife and the baby she was holding both crying and standing the scorching sun.

..That's a good lesson.

Don't know or care about what other people do.

God knows what I do, so far that's good enough for me.

Lavish in words, cheap in deeds. Some are some are not.

....Psycho, oh my God! now that's bragging!...LOL

I didn't exactly mean for you to tell what you've been doing, more than sending a reminder to non-doers talkative people. I'm talkative too, but I "work" sometimes...:))

what good deeds you have done to other people would mean encouraging others to do the same, why not? just do it in a way that you will not sound like bragging

If we did something good, then bragged abt it, is it really a good thing that we did? Seems shallow.

Hmmm come to think of it...last month our tea boy said the same thing about his mother needing to have an operation back in Sri Lanka. I'm beginning to see a pattern here. Do they all really need the operation..or are we being scammed?

..... John Of Arc, heat, humidity and boredom …LOL

The same happened in my office, in less than 30 minutes, a huge amount was collected to someone who's mother has been having eye issues, and had to go under the knife or would lose sight.

The operation was done last week successfully.

Yayyyyyyyy

....John Of Arc, what you have done or seen someone else doing. But I think you've got what I mean with this thread, in your first reply.

Tell you the truth, I'm upset with all the fuss on QL, other forums, and in real life, this May and obviously every May!

Words, words, words, words...etc

Happy Happy...irrespective of times good deeds are done, narrating them for self would be considered as bragging about self, so better left there...but can always say a thank you to all those who ever did any good to me.

but it would be unseemly to advertize it here - so for that reason I don't think this thread will be a long one. :)
