I remember my first bosses, back home, asking me if I did drugs when I showed up the first day to work when i was 16.
I replied "no, I was an army cadet, etc." to which the coolest filipino boss I ever had replied, "good, BECAUSE WE DOOO!" lol
he later on shot nails from a nail gun at my feet, making me dance like a monkey as the nails sparked off the floor.
it was still the most fun i've ever had working, ever. I didn't feel like I was showing up to the manual slave labor job that it was, paying minimum wage, but rather, to come hang out with a group of really awesome guys, my boss included!
I learned that your job can be to go through the gates of hell, but it's the people around you that make it feel like playing mini golf in your air conditioned office.
he was also the one that nurtured my natural I.T. talent, and had me design the company websites, logos, business cards, etc. to which i made him proud so he'd stop throwing things at me.
I met a lady married to a wealthy Qatarie and she showed how working was not just about earning money obviously, but about how to make a difference (positive!) in the world.
The way she described her own work (we were colleagues) made me ashamed of me being there just for the good salary.
In other words, I got inspired to become a REAL teacher, in soul and body, as I used to be before greediness took over!!
So I will refer to life itself.. In my life a person who inspired and influenced me most would have to be my younger sister. It's thanks to her influence, AlHamdulillah, that a lot of positive changes came about in me. She influenced me to doing what's better even if it meant sacrificing some of life's more temporally pleasures. And today I am a far better if not happier person.

My mentors are my mother and brother (RIP), supported and inspired during school / college days.
