I'm usually kind of despicable so this whole peace-seeking attitude is new to me but is there any chance that "Segmund" and "timebandit" would stop their attempts at outwitting each other?

The way I see it, you both have intellect, you both have the gift of words and you both have humor. Think about it; combined, you could start a ranting revolution.(seriously the last sentence is intended to be humorous)

Naturally and to put it simply anything you've enjoyed and no longer can you get withdrawal symptoms from.

Looks like people have bigger issues here, think ought to keep my rants to myself

I must agree you have diagnosed me rather too well. I do belong to the kind of people who stay at home alone because they have nothing better to do. I am shy and I can not meet anyone. Not that I do not want, but I feel it would be a disaster to meet someone new. It is for this reason, I choose to interact with people through the thick screens of a computer. Lucky are you guys who are able to face the world in the eye and have coffee amongst other friends.

No spending time with me is nothing special. But I am excepted in social circles where I enjoy others company, and they enjoy mine. Can you say the same? You do not seem interact well.

Accepted not excepted, bloody iPad

You make it sound as if spending an evening with you is a previlige and a luxury.

You might have said the right things about me, but believe me I do not even have a speck of grandiosity.

I would gladly spend an evening with any of the others, figure it out.

Are you talking to me, Brit or na'am?

Hmmm I have a down the pub drink measurement of a person. Would I consider a person good company for an evening in a good old British pub with a few beers and a packet of crisps. Would their conversation be intelligent, would they have a sense of humour, would they stand their round at the bar? There are many here on QL that I would gladly sit in Coffee Beanery (in the absence of a pub) and have a pleasant evening with. We used to do it a lot but it's gone out of fashion now. With your attitude on QL I'm not sure you would be someone I would choose to spend time with. You love yourself too much, you have delusions of grandure and are totally void of humour. You need to get out more and try interacting with others on a social level. You may like it.

Sometimes it helps to get things off your chest. However, make sure that the anger is not directed at any one..

Fathima, sounds like you suffered from random ranting at the hand of merciless souls :( well, we learn lessons the hard way sometimes.

Haha, Timebandit, that was a very interesting rant.

From now on, I will follow you as my spiritual guru. I have heard of humours but there are so many--- aqueous humor, vitreous humour, and other four bodily humours. I am not sure which humor you are talking about. You must give me the source.

No point it's called humour, you should read about it.

I don't rant, and if anyone says I do then I think they don't know what they are talking about. Here in Qatar the quality of rants needs to be regulated. Nowhere else in the world rants in the same way as Qatar rants and it's time Qatar did something about it. And I know what I am talking about because I am a world authority on ranting having studied it in somewhere other than Qatar where the ranting standards are better. Some nationalities are good at ranting, but others are better and I don't think that is fair. And I for one can't help noticing that rants in Qatar take so long. Why are they so damn slow? I was stuck in a rant yesterday for over an hour. That would never happen in Dubai where rants are the most impressive in the ME and it's going to take Qatar 10 years to catch up with their ranting. And why doesn't Qatar pay more for its rants? I blame the schools in Qatar where they just don't teach ranting the same as the West or the East. More rants are killed in Qatar than anywhere else in the world. And the other day a rant that I thought was fresh turned out to be years old and when I complained I was told its not unusual for a rant to be used by a lot of people over and over again and I could not have a new one. WHAT! How dare they. If I were a ranter (which I am not) I would have ranted them into the ground. Why are there no new rants in Qatar? They are all old, and falling apart, but people just keep using them. One day someone is going to be using one of these rants and it's going to fall apart and then I will be able to tell you I told you so.

It is common because a vulgar mind usually can not come up with a better coping mechanism. Of course, there are many ways to skin a cat. However, common things are commonly common to common people.

Well, that's a lot of stuff about human nature,n fathimah, ranting is so common that everyone sounds the same here

provided you are ranting in the right ears though. Random ranting might do more harm than good. Do I know what I am talking about? Oh how I wish I didn't!

This is how human beings have been made. Regardless of how good or bad the situation is, if it persists it will make you feel bored.

As to coming to Qatar from Dubai, again it is natural. Over there, there are many things to engross your mind. Here there is more monotony.

Ranting wont help. Yet, it is a good idea if you can freely express your pent up feelings as this process, called catharsis in psychology, has been long known to have a therapeutic effect and in expert hands it can be a perfect treatment tool for many emotional problems.
