Olé FC emerge as MESF Football Tournament champions
Olé FC emerged victorious at the 4th edition of MESF Football Tournament 2021 after beating Spartans FC in the final on November 5, 2021.
The tournament was organized by the MES Alumni Association and took place at the football ground in MES Indian School. Qatar Living was proud to be the strategic sponsor for both Olé FC and the MESF Football Tournament 2021.
After an anticlimactic draw between the tournament favorites during the group stages, the two teams battled it out once again as the venue was packed with supporters.
Olé FC was able to maintain a one-goal lead during the first half, despite being one man down after an early red card. The Spartans were quick to respond during the second half, taking advantage of the situation to score an equalizer.
The wolves then scored two goals through a fantastic freekick and a goal from the penalty spot for a 3-1 lead. Spartans managed to pull one back a few minutes later to close the gap, but a red card decision against them meant that both teams were now playing with five outfield players.
With majority of the crowd cheering for the wolves, a comeack seemed impossobile for the Spartans. Both teams were relentless and gave it their all until the final whistle, but there would only be one winner - Ole FC had won their first-ever MESF title.
The action-packed match ended with a final score of 3-2, with Olé FC’s Salman Khaleel being named the player of the match and also picking up the award for the most valuable player of the tournament.
Lifting the title will come as a huge boost for Ole FC as they look to make their mark in the local footalling scene with their squad of homegrown talents.
Ole FC is sponsored by Eastern Gate, supplier of high-quality fastening solutions, and Giant Migration, immigration consultants based in Qatar.
