HH the Amir attends Qatar Total Open 2021
One of the most awaited and popular sports events, Qatar Total Open kicked off with its 19th edition in Doha yesterday.
Qatar's ruler, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was in attendance on the opening day of the tournament and witnessed the action in the match between Spain's Garbine Muguruza (the world no. 15) and Russia's Veronika Kudermetova (world no. 26) in the third round.
The Spaniard won the match 6-2 and 7-6, Qatar News Agency reported.

Several of their excellencies guests of the competitions and tennis enthusiast attended the event which is being held in line with precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19.
The Qatar Total Open 2021 is being held in Doha at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex from March 1 to 6.
A total of $565,530 in prize money are up for grabs at the prestigious tournament, which will involve 32 players, including four qualifiers, in the singles event and 16 teams for the doubles.
