Qatar shines at GCC Women's Games 2019, collects several medals
Ladies from Team Qatar participating in the GCC Women's Games 2019 have proven that nothing can stop them from their achieving their goals!
In a series of achievements over the last couple of days, Qatar's female athletes have done the nation proud with their outstanding performances and highly-driven attitude.
The 6th GCC Women's Games kicked off in Kuwait on Sunday, October 20, bringing together six GCC nations to lock horns with each other in 11 games.
Lolwa Al-Marri, President of Qatar Women's Sport Committee, is chairing Team Qatar's delegation to the games. A total of 132 athletes, administrators, and technical staff members are attending the prestigious event.
Team Qatar has put on a smashing performance thus far in the tournament.
Here are all the accomplishments:
Handball
Qatar's handball team defeated UAE in the finals of the event by a lead of 3 points yesterday.

Taekwondo
Qatari taekwondo player Amina Abdulkarim won the gold medal in the 53kg weight category.
And the silver medal went to Maryam Ali Ben Ali in the 73kg weight category.
Pistol Event
Nasra Mohamed clinched the top spot at the 25m pistol event of the tournament, earning the gold medal.
Moreover, Qatar's skeet team including Amal Ahmed, Fatima Saeed, and Aysha Ahmed clinched the bronze medal on Wednesday.
Basketball
Team Qatar claimed gold in the basketball event of the tournament by defeating UAE in the finals.
Earlier in the championships, Qatar had defeated Oman 61-23 after defeating Saudi Arabia 63-41.
Fencing
Qatar's Wadha Al Abdullah claimed the bronze medal of Epee fencing event at the tournament.
Also, Qatar's fencing team grabbed the silver medal of Epee event and bronze medal of Sabre event.
Table Tennis
Qatari women’s table tennis team is also one step away from the gold medal after defeating Saudi Arabia 3-0 in the team event yesterday and is all set to lock horns with Bahrain in today’s final.
