Qatar has been working above and beyond to deliver an unmatched fan experience of the world’s most popular football tournament in 2022.

With its relentless efforts and exceptional planning, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has ensured the stadiums, as well as the necessary infrastructure, are ready well ahead of time.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the country launched the Education City Stadium in a digital event.

In a recent interview, Nasser Al Khater, CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC confirmed that two more stadiums will be launched by the end of this year, followed by Lusail, Al Thumama, and Ras Abu Aboud in 2021.

Along with the construction works, other important preparations for the tournament delivery have also continued amid the challenges of the present times.

Security preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 have been ongoing and remain unhindered since the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to SC, the Security Committee at SC has delivered all necessary training for police officers and security personnel online since March.

The training was conducted via an interactive online platform that included video clips, 3D simulations, and regular tests.

The sessions focused on the subjects of crowd management, major incidents, and behavioral detection techniques.

Delegates also had the opportunity to understand a range of interactive scenarios and benefit from professional development modules.

All the sessions were delivered via Microsoft Teams and included input from experts based in Qatar, the UK, the Netherlands, and Russia.

The Security Committees Head of Training & Development, Major Fahad Saeed Al Subaey said it was important to maintain consistency concerning training in the lead-up to Qatar 2022.

"It is vital our preparations continue in relation to security training for all relevant stakeholders in the build-up to the World Cup," said Al Subaey.

"We are proud of our work over the past few months, which is testament to our resilience and innovation. We look forward to delivering a program which meets the very highest international standards and leaves a legacy for Qatar, the region, and the world in 2022."

The Deputy Head of Training & Development Major Abdul Rahman Hamad Al Suwaidi said, "The pandemic has presented a lot of challenges but through the optimal use of distance learning platforms, we have seamlessly connected with our learners and ensured the continuation of our training and development.”
