Three clubs’ representatives elected into QSL Executive Committee at Ordinary General Meeting

Three representatives from the clubs were elected into the Executive Committee of the Qatar Stars League (QSL) during its Ordinary General Assembly meeting held yesterday at the Sheraton Doha Hotel and chaired by the QSL CEO Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan.

The clubs’ representatives are Aref Mohamed al Abdullah (Al Ahli club), Turki Nasser al Ali al Maadeed (Al Sadd club) and Abdullah Hamed Abdullah Ali al-Mulla (Qatar Sports Club).

The Ordinary General Assembly was attended by Mr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Boenain, representative of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and member of the Executive Committee of QSL, Mr. Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, representative of football club companies and member of Executive Committee of QSL, Mr. Nasser Mohammed Al Hitmi, representative of football club companies and member of Executive Committee of QSL, as well as heads and representatives of clubs.

The meeting procedures started with the address of the CEO.

Ballan announced the start of the event in accordance with the agenda, where the approval of the Ordinary General Assembly was done in accordance with the Articles of Association of the organization, appointing members to record and review the meeting’s proceedings, approving the annual report on the activities of the organization, reviewing and approving its audited financial statements for the year ended and approving the auditor’s report, appointment of independent auditors based on the recommendation of Executive Committee and view the budget approved by the Executive Committee.

Speaking at the event, Ballan said, “This is the first time the QSL will be having this type of election since its establishment in 2008 and I’m particularly delighted with the outcome of the meeting. I would like to welcome onboard the newly elected members. The conduct of the election was peaceful, transparent and very democratic and it reflected the opinion of everyone here present. I believe the League will benefit greatly from the experience of the new members as we work together with the clubs for the benefits of Qatar football.”

With the election, the new composition of the QSL Executive Committee is as follows:

His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani (President of QSL)

Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan (CEO)

Mr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Boenain (representative of Qatar Football Association)

Mr. Jassim Al Rumaihi (experienced member)

Mr. Salman Ahmad Al Ansari (representative of Qatar Players Association)

Mr. Abdullah Hamid Al Mulla (representative of football club companies)

Mr. Turki Nasser Al Ali (representative of football club companies)

Mr. Aref Abdel Rahman (representative of football club companies)

Al Rumaihi was chosen as a member of the Executive Committee as an experienced person, according to the statute.
